This repaired loop is the result of many years of the little pop sound in the middle grating at me and consequently spending hours obsessing over individual sound samples in a feverish fervor to set it right.

I'm pretty happy with the result!

Of course, I do NOT own the original piece of music. Please support Nightmargin and the other creators of this game and its soundtrack by buying the game and its OST. You can find the OST here: nightmargin.bandcamp.com/music

Original WAV file can be found here: drive.google.com/file/d/1BoFbFTeNMd85_2aXN58HH-_UN…

If you want a shorter version, feel free to send me a message on Discord! lumosterris#2354

This video and the above Drive link will be removed upon the OST owner's request.

This game means everything to me, and this haunting melody makes my spine crawl no matter how long it's been since I've played the game or heard it. Thank you for letting me enjoy something that's brought me solstice throughout the years. Without the pop.

I think the moment that made me cry so much was when I actually got to say goodbye to Niko in the Solstice ending. Just.. being able to actually say goodbye for real broke me

Playing Oneshot after the true ending will never be the same again.

I feel so weird about this, This is the first time I've missed a character from something like this.. I miss talking to Niko.. I miss helping Niko figure out things.. Or hearing Niko talk about the pancakes Mama'd make.. Even after multiple months, that question still.. burns in the back of my head. I probably just need to go touch grass or something but.. I miss Niko.. I really.. miss Niko..

Only thing solstice is missing is an option to hug Niko and say “thank you”

this game is something I regret not playing sooner, possibly the greatest game I have played Edit: I sleep to this

Fun fact: In the freeware version, if you were to 'kill' Niko by closing the game out, the menu soundtrack would be replaced with 'My Burden Is Dead,' instead of the usual 'My Burden Is Light.' It makes sense, but is also so unsettling and creepy. Even just seeing Niko's scarf wrapped around a broken sun without Niko anywhere to be seen is already unsettling, and the soundtrack just adds onto it. Edit: On the topic of this, the message that you get when you try to exit the game after selecting Start is basically the cherry on top for how creepy this is. You killed Niko.
  • The synths making up the melody of this song still confound me. They feel so rough and yet ethereal.

    I JUST CAN'T forget this game :,)
  • I think the reason why we all end up missing Niko so much is not just the amazing story has to tell, but also how it makes sure to cement Niko as their own character. Other games are all about getting you immersed as a character, but OneShot went out of its way to ensure that Niko had a voice of their own, and focused on building a bond. I will always cherish the time I spent with Niko, and I miss them dearly. But I’m glad that they’re back home and I hope they’re doing well

This song, it's ambience, it's complex simplicity, it's soft rough melody. It makes you get the feels, especially after playing the game, it feels like your heart gets heavy, like it almost puts you back into the game, under the burden of the sun, the fate of a dying world, the duty of a child who never asked for anything more than a home. Absolutely brilliant, I love this song, there isn't another like it.
  • I love this game so much. I was late to the party, played it after the Solstice ending was added, but it has a special place in my heart. If there is one moment that I remember the most, it's when you meet the robot in the alley that's surrounded by all the cats.  When they tell you you can sit with them and feel the warmth they have to offer for a while, that feeling of comfort is what I remember the whole of the game made me fell. It's the same feeling of coming home after a long, tiring journey. Joyful, but also heavy and melancholic. I suppose that's how Niko feels returning home instead of returning the sun. God I miss Niko a lot

This game's ending is a dramatization of the trolley problem. Nevertheless, OneShot has unlocked emotions within me that no game has ever even come close to scraping, in both the base-game and Solstice endings.

Even though i finished the game just yesterday, it somehow feels nostalgic, like if i'd know it for years. Quite frankly, this piece is one of the most engaging and soul-tearing soundtracks i've ever heard. Knowing that the world is beyond repair, knowing that its residents gave up all hopes: "It wont help. Its too late". Even after that, despite all the despair and bleak, utter darkness, we reach the summit. To a choice. To save yourself or To save the world. But is it worth it? Is there a hope it will live long and prosperous afterwards? My words are few to describe how deeply touching this masterpiece is. This game is one of a kind. Its beautiful. All the great to the creators of this mind-boggling, unsettling game. Its a game about tragedy, that makes us, the player, feel most indefinite about the destiny of a dying world. I hope that it will get all attention it deserved with the release on modern consoles. This time, it sure will, make a difference.

ALSO PEOPLE ARE STILL POSTING ABOUT THIS GAME I AM SO HAPPY
  • @Corweenie875
I feel like that universe actually exists and we've entered it through a game. The universe is big. multiverses exists. it could be possible.
  • @AlgebraMaster
playing omori is like wearing a mask, and makes you feel lighter, like a distraction to all your worries. playing undertale is like reading a book, telling the moral of the story and spinning words into a fairytale. playing oneshot, makes you feel heavy, not with a burden, but with a realisation and responsibility that you have. ps: i know im sad for writing this lol

I only completed Oneshot recently, but I believe I'd say it's one of my favorite games. The idea of talking to Niko and getting to know them makes them feel more like a friend, rather than a character in a game. I never thought it'd be so difficult to say goodbye to a fictional character. I like to imagine that somewhere, anywhere, Niko is back with their mama, happy once more. I miss Niko
