you missed something very important about why Nintendo DS and DSi were such a success. In poor countries or countries where we couldn't buy or afford buying game cartridges, sellers were offering homebrew cartridges with SD cards where you can download and play roms. this made the sales explode in countries where nintendo traditionally has no presence

Haven’t even seen it yet but you know it’s gonna be a W

I bought a DS for my dad for his birthday, my mom said she wanted one for Christmas the same year. They were smokers at the time and you could always find them sitting on their porch each playing their DS. They were both in their late fifties. They started with rain teasers and bundle games with sudoku and puzzles and moved on to Mario Kart and Zelda. My mom has replayed Ocarina of Time several times😂
  • 19:11 Wow, those words hurt, because the 2ds was my first Nintendo handheld and I absolutely love it.

I really don’t understand how he uploads so frequently and the quality is still WAY better than any other channel I watch. It’s very impressive, and with the amount of time (and money) you put into your videos, you deserve to get to 20 million subs!

12:24 that ds noise… I don’t know how to explain it, it’s so nostalgic and making me Fr have a existential crisis

You forgot: Game Boy Pocket & Game Boy Light
  • @PlayerH_
This video captured this feeling of the progression from one console to the next so well. I found myself being impressed by 20 year old tech.
  • @ukipopo
Actually the original GBA SP had a front lit display. They released a backlit model later on.

19:19 i got my hands on New3DS XL for the first time i think back in 2021, and i fell in love with it 😂 feels so modern and also bigger than the DSi. I’m so amazed on first boot because icons and text literally floating at the screen like How is this possible!?
  • This is a really good collection, but before the Game Boy Color there was also the Game Boy Pocket. This was a slimmed down version of the first Game Boy that required fewer batteries. There was also the Game Boy Light, which is essentially the Game Boy Pocket that had a backlit display and only released in Japan. Game Boy Micro was an interesting release and you can consider it the Game Boy Advance slim.

That calculator at 1:19 is one if the most wholesome things I’ve ever seen on this channel 🥹

The nostalgia on these videos is absolutely OFF THE CHARTS! Incredibly fun to take a dive back considering handheld gaming was the beginning for many gamers. Please keep videos like this coming!
  • 8:05 zelda and the minish cap... my favorite game, i played that when i was 8 years old in a trip... bring sooo much memory the game is kinda hard but its so simple and high quality for that year
  • @Noah_11626
From my first console to my most recent I have to give it credit to the NEW 3DS XL that made me love games so much. So glad it was my first console.
  • @lilDrewSabady
The way he can just make 40 year old technology sound new is just incredible!
  • @f.hegerfeldt128
The fact that Nintendo put Xenoblade on the new 3ds is still mind-blowing.
  • @peemboonsiripant
