Calling the turtles "dogs" is a really old inside joke. When you leave a message, you only get limited words to fill your message with. The word "turtle" is not an option, so people that leave messages have unanimously decided that all turtles are now "dogs"
  • your search for "the cave" was hilarious on a few levels. first level: it was a joke, the person who left the message was saying the tent is like a cave second level: me thinking about how close you were to finding so many caves on your search. its wild how hidden some of this content is third level: me knowing that you will eventually find something because its Elden Ring and theres stuff everywhere

Little advice: people talk up the bloodhound's fang, and it is really good, but pretty much any weapon in the game can beat the game if you build for it. The great thing about fromsoft games is that basically every playstyle is valid. Don't worry about sticking to what's strong, do what feels fun.

The backseating in this series will be wild 😂 Loving it anyway

The best thing about Elden Ring compared to every other Soulsborne game is that it can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be.
  • Glad to see that you’re enjoying the game. Some notes: Two handing a weapon only increases you STR, by 50% to be specific. Instead of leveling endurance to gain more equip load, you can switch your armour parts for something lighter to get medium load for that sweet faster roll. Not all dual wielding combos are good. Just test out first before deciding whether you want to two hand your weapon or dual wielding.
  • I’ll put this now while I’m watching. With the blood hounds fang, you have a secondary ash of war. After you use the ash of war tap your heavy attack and you dash forward and swipe, one of the reasons why it’s so good! Always level, level requirements then scaling. Bloodhounds fang is also quality affinity, meaning it scales really well with both str and dex leveled roughly equally
  • It's so interesting to see a complete newbie experience the game. I almost don't want to give advice to keep the experience as "pure" as possible. But that isn't how the game is meant to be played, the notes are meant to be used by other players to help others. So, a few notes: >Two-handing increases strength by 50% >Vigour scales very weirdly, first slow, then fast, then slow again. 40 is healthy, 60 is tanky. >If you come to a fork in the path and see a message like "first off, Left then precious item/shortcut" you can almost always trust them. >You will get many opportunities to respec (reallocate your points) so don't be afraid to commit to a weapon or build. You can change your mind and try something else. You are legit doing great learning. The game doesn't really become more complicated, it just begins to demand more precision. The easiest enemy and the hardest boss are beaten the same way: learn their moves, dodge their attacks, punish their openings. Looking forward to more
  • Haven’t finished the video yet but just so you know when you two hand a weapon it only increases strength by 1.5 but has no influence on other stats.
  • @isopodshuffle
haven't finished the video yet, but the rule of thumb on levels: your #1 priority is meeting the minimum requirements on your weapon. after that, you want to just pump vigor (and occasionally put a point or two into endurance/mind if you need more stamina/fp). honestly once you meet the reqs, you can just ignore Str/Dex/Fth/Int until you get your vigor up to 40ish i know it feels counter-intuitive not to up your offensive stat for so long, but as long as you keep your weapon upgraded you'll put out plenty of damage. in the early game HP gives you way more bang for the buck (both in terms of actual increase per level, and in you staying alive in fights long enough to even learn the moves)
  • My god. When you start doing medium rolls instead of heavy rolls it's going to be like when Piccolo took of his weighted training armour. I am so here for this. It is so interesting to see a completely "blind" perspective. You got this.

Some tips: 1. It is preferred to have a medium equip load or lower in combat at all times since it gives you a faster dodge roll and will help you not feel as sluggish during combat. You can increase your equipment load capacity by leveling endurance or with certain talismans, but if needed you should remove armor pieces / switch out armor for pieces that have less weight so that you have a medium load. 2. The bloodhound fang ash of war is super good and you should also utilize it more, keep in mind that you can do an follow up attack with the ash of war if you follow it up with a heavy attack (press LT to activate and then follow up with RT) 3. In the same menu where you can use golden seeds to increase flask charges there is also an option to allocate your HP & FP flasks. Unless you are running a magic build and need more FP, usually it is best to allocate such that you have almost all crimson tear flasks and only 1 or 2 cerulean flasks. Having more heals is always helpful 4. Two handing your weapon will increase your strength stat by 1.5x (for example, two handing with 14 strength will give you the equivalent of 21 strength). This increase applies to the strength stat only. However, in order to dual wield the bloodhound fang with the dismounter you will need to meet the minimum stat requirements for both weapons. When dual wielding, if you want to use the ash of war of the weapon in your left hand you need to two hand it (hold Y and press left bumper and then you will be able to use it) 5. In places like the catacombs where once you open the door it is pretty much a straight shot from the site of grace to the boss room, you can save a lot of time and also enter the boss fight with more health if you just run past all of the enemies if possible and go straight into the arena (enemies cannot damage you when going through the mist) 6. Make sure you are equipping talismans in the menu where you can choose your weapons and armor. The green turtle talisman you got in this video is a really good one to use. Really enjoying the series so far, keep up the great work!

If you see a red X in the top right corner it means your stats aren't enough. 2 handing only increases your strength by 1.5 nothing else. This information is in the tutorial screens in your inventory that you can go back and read.

This is a wholesome series, it is tempting but I will not backseat at all. Looking forward to you becoming the best god slaying Elden Ring warrior soon.
  • When using your Bloodhound's Finesse attack, press a regular heavy swing as your char flips backward. You will do a lunge forward attack.
  • Keep these coming, the real endgame of soulsborne is watching a noob take their first steps. We all wanna share the victories with you. Yes, you have improved significantly. Took embarrassingly longer for souls combat to click with me. Just keep going, man.
  • Exploration tip: Look at your map and look for buildings of ruins. They literally always have something of at least mild interest, so they're always worth checking out. Certain ones have key, but not technically required progression items as well. So they're 100% worth checking out.
