Over Powered Train On Indiana & Ohio Railway. Short Line Railroad With Huge New Rebuilt Locomotives. Have You Seen These Freshly Painted And Rebuilt Locomotives Yet? The Train Is In Wilmington, Ohio; Blanchester, Ohio; Goshen Ohio And Then The Train Is In Loveland, Ohio Passing The Historic Train Station. The Train Station Sat Between The Baltimore And Ohio Railroad And The Pennsylvania Railroad. Today, only the B&O line survives. Also included is a short I&O switcher local freight with lumber and tank cars on the Greenfield Sub. The majority of the video features the Midland Sub. The Midland Sub runs from Cincinnati to Columbus, Ohio.
The train is first seen in Wilmington, Ohio passing the location of where the Pennsylvania Railroad also passed with the B&O. You can see on the maps in the video where the two railroads met. When I say the locomotives are new, I mean that they are newly rebuilt and painted. Locomotive #4079 is a C40-8W that was built in 1993. #4086 is a C40-8W built in 1993. #4088 is a C40-8W built in 1993.
We then see the other side of the train as it passes the ex location of the Midland train station. It burnt on the morning of the first day of this year. See my video of that fire in my I&O playlist.
Then we see it at a railroad crossing near Goshen Township. I grew up near here.
The best location is the final location in Loveland, Ohio. Check out the old passenger train station. Today it is a small business that sells sporting shoes. The train is seen passing railroad crossings and the bike trail in the No Train Horn Zone city.
The final train is a short local freight on the Greenfield Sub. This line is 26 or so miles long and owned by the city of Greenfield, Ohio. The train is at a railroad crossing running eastbound with a Geep and 7 cars. This line only has three customers and the train only runs with a single locomotive. I rode a dinner train on this line years ago.

Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the slide show that comes from the video.

Filmed Thursday, July 11, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

You never usually get to short line railroads like that very much so it’s cool to see that

Wow, those locomotives were BEAUTIFUL!! Looked like they just got a fresh coat of paint put on them recently! Very nice!

The old concrete grain elevator and the old white Champion building to the left made for a very nice background as the IORY newer power rolls on by. That second building had the look of that old Lumber shed. A healthy size train and once again the surely like to tote the gondolas around and a real classic was near the end decked out in Southern Pacific paint. The Lockland Depot certainly is an attractive building and with the tile roof almost looks like a Carnegie Library. Stay cool and keep the hat on to prevent the cancer gremlins

It's awesome to hear that you were born in Ohio Brian. I was born in Lima. You were only 2 hours away from me in Wilmington. Awesome live action, too. Those locomotives were very pretty.

Love the I&O short line locos! beautiful filming JT. Lovely locations especially the park in Midland. So quiet too until the train comes! Loved how the train goes slow through the park. Fab chase through the pretty Ohio countryside & towns JT. Have a great weekend! ❤😊👍🐴🐕🐈🐈‍⬛🇬🇧🇺🇸

Красивые машины видно за ними хорошо смотрят их водители молодцы.
  • I'm sure that Genesee & Wyoming appreciates the shout-out now that they have repainted the second-hand locomotives. They are all over the planet. I have seen videos on YouTube from the UK and Australia with that pattern, "Zero injuries". The short lines are subsidiaries, and so the equipment caries the names, initials and reporting marks of the short lines. The locomotives in Australia that I saw on YouTube have the initials G&W on the nose.
