  • Fun Fact: The reason for all of the under the age of 12 disclaimers is due to scratch having a rule where you have to denote 'Scary' content or else your project will be removed off the site.
  • @cloud2811
The reason the jump scares are off by default, and are even able to be turned off in the first place is that your game has a lower chance of being taken down if it's discovered by the scratch moderators.
  • The fact that you guys kept getting distracted by Planet Dolan was honestly the best part of this video.
  • Back in roughly 2015, Scratch had full-on rips of some of the games. Like, there was a fully working version of FNAF 4 on Scratch at one point. The models had been confusingly broken down into sprites (that were broken up very weirdly, there had to be 100's of individual sprites in the thing), I'm not sure if anyone even remembers it.

As someone who frequented Scratch during the FNaF boom, I can say that yes, FNaF content was basically shadowbanned by Scratch. They made a public announcement after, supposedly, multiple angry parents had complained that games on Scratch were giving their kids nightmares. I'm not entirely sure about the validity of the reasoning myself, but I do remember that's the main reason the Scratch staff gave when they made that infamous announcement on that fateful day. Even my own little top-down one night FNaF recreation got hit by the hammer. It didn't put a strike on my account or anything, It just automatically "unshared" the project so people couldn't play it.

I gotta say, I was pretty hyped when you cut to playing my game, (#60, 28:48 ) I actually made that game in 2 DAYS, so yeah hearing you make fun of it genuinely made my day Pretty respectable that you not only looked at the instructions, but played the second part. Thank you for actually giving it a shot. Love your content! I'm actually in the process of making not garbage fnaf games. It is fun to make them, and I am very proud of the progress I have made. I hope you make a video on actually good scratch fnaf games! There are a bunch, and they are hard to find, you just have to ask some scratchsmart devs, like Airbot (who is in the comments below). As for my suggestions, "The Arctic" by ChuckParker and the 2020 versions of the "FNAE" series by endergamer7777, which has a new one coming out that everyone who has playtested it genuinely said it was perhaps the best fnaf fangame on scratch.
  • Honestly? That kid with the game where the pink penguin jumpscares you (can’t remember which one, I’ll look in a minute) kid deserves MAD props. The fact that he took the time to voice multiple parts of the game, BY HIMSELF, is really awesome! It shows that despite it being a scratch game, this kid really wanted to do something cool! Major props to that kid, I hope he goes on to learn coding and can make a really cool game some day! Edit: it’s Game 023, starting at 15:08!

I remember finding a scratch fnaf game where it was Sister location, but with Shrek. It was, like, extremely high-quality for a Scratch game, and I wish I could find it again.

I'm going to be honest when I made Five Nights at Harold's, I didn't expect it to be so popular among people on scratch because it wasn't really a good or motivating tutorial to make. I was just doing it for fun. But when I released the game, everyone was remixing Harold. As of I'm writing this comment, there're almost 400 different Five Nights at Harold's clones out there and me and everyone in the community is feeling very uncanny about it and I don't judge them lol.

Hi, Scratch FNaF Dev here. Glad to see a video covering this kind of stuff. I'll be glad to give you a bit of information and insight to some things you might be wondering about. 1. That UI you saw in Five Nights at Mario's 2 wasn't actually a part of the game. It's actually a bug that can occasionally happen when loading a project. A simple refresh should restore it to what it should be, unless it happened to you while developing the game and you saved the project while it was like that (which actually happened to another scratch fnaf dev i know) 2. The trend of jumpscares being off by default is actually a way to get around Scratch, since fnaf fangames are in a sort of grey area in terms of what's allowed. Thank you for making a video on Scratch FNaF Games, uhyeah. If you do end up making that other scratch fnaf fangame video, I'd be glad to show you some good ones.
  • Now to be serious, these people did their darnedest for these games. Regardless of their shoddy craftsmanship, they put art!
  • @RumbleDelta
Jesus that Planet Dolan mention was a throwback. I used to binge watch them when in high school, I now feel very old.
  • @seratope
Fun fact: Bubba's Diner started out as a Scratch game. The one on Gamejolt is a remaster of the one on Scratch.

For those scrolling through the comment section, I have a story to tell you. So a couple months ago, me and a friend of mine were bored in class since we had no assignments to do. So we decided the best thing to do was to play Scratch FNaF fangames to pass the time. This led to us finding a masterpiece by the name of Forever in Minecraft. It was your standard Scratch FNaF Fan-game affair, mask mechanic, barely functional UI, and stolen ambience and jumpscare noises. But was recorded all in Minecraft. We were laughing at it for three straight minutes before he couldn't figure out how to deal with the pumpkin enemy and died to it. The ensuing jumpscare caused him to scream which led to the entire class turning to look at him and to me dying of sheer laughter. Anyway, Forever in Minecraft is peak.

As someone who, ironically enough, is making one of these games, i now know 3 things: 1: My game is really polished compared to my competition. 2: This video made me make the room NOT a boring grey. 3: im putting that image in my game as soon as possible.
  • @Punkinator7
The reason why there is a jumpscare toggle is that horror content is against the rules apparently, which is why these games were shadow banned.
  • @DToTheB
The reason why so many of them have a jumpscares toggle is because at some point scratch started taking them down for having jumpscares, so people started adding a button to toggle them as a way to make sure their game didn't get taken down
  • Yo he played my game at 35:33 and quit instantly. “Disappointed because he died” skill issue
