Pastel buildings and stone-paved streets in Coloane, Cotai, Macau | 4K 60FPS

Coloane is one of Macau's most captivating locales. It's where traditional Chinese culture meets Portuguese colonial heritage, and offers a tranquil retreat that showcases the city's rich history and architectural diversity.

This tour will take you through narrow lanes lined with temples and Chinese shops as well as quaint pastel-colored Portuguese buildings, a living testament to Coloane's unique blend of cultural influences. If you're interested in architecture, history, or simply want to escape the hustle and bustle of mainland Macau, Coloane on Cotai is the perfect destination. Join us on this walking tour and discover why Coloane is a must-visit area for any traveler in the region.

There's a lot I like about this video, and it's where I really fell in love with Macau. It was hot, but worth sweating for (and when you can buy Pocari Sweat from every shop, sweating really ain't that bad); there's a lot of gentle vignettes I really appreciated I was walking around, like the clear stream near the Tin Hau temple (21:49) or the workers taking apart the bamboo scaffold following a festival (25:58)

If you do happen to visit, then I strongly recommend visiting Lord Stow's, a bakery established in 1989. They run a cafe, too, so you can sit down to dodge the rain (as we did before filming this video). The service and food are both excellent, and it's generally held that Stow's offers the best egg tarts in the territory. So what are you waiting for?
