At this point I'm more interested in MCU reviews than the actual movies
  • The villains desperately trying to destroy this universe are the real heroes here.
  • Props to Cassie's actress for having only one emotion on her face throughout the entire movie.

Anyone think it was weird how Scott saying his daughter needs to stop going to jail was made out to be a bad thing by his family? Lol
  • Cassie is smart enough to build a freaking Quantum radio but dumb enough to not appreciate her father's heroism
  • I love how the quantum realm in the first film was a seemingly endless void of geometric shapes and now its Star Wars planet

The fact that they replaced Cassie’s actress from endgame with one that couldn’t act is INSANE to me

The first 15 mins of this movie summarises the current state of the MCU. Paul Lang is enjoying life, he is an celebrated author and is attending book signings. Whilst reading a particularly inspiring excerpt to a group of children he is contacted by the police. It turns out his 14yo daughter has been arrested. He quickly cuts the book signing short and rushes to the police station to be met by his insufferable, unapologetic daughter. She disrespects him repeatedly along with the police. On the way home he voices his displeasure and tells her not to be arrested again. He is then ganged up on by his daughter and gf. He is shamed for attempting to parent his own child, for ‘telling his daughter what to do’. When they arrive home they are enjoying pizza. Paul tries to get support from other family members who inform him that his daughter has been arrested before and that they never told him. Also that his daughter has been engaged in dangerous experiments behind his back. His thoughts and opinions dismissed and ridiculed. Wow, what fantastic messaging Disney! I have never witnessed such a thorough emasculation of a man in my life. It’s surprising Paul Langford isn’t suicidal. Is this really the kind of message you want to teach young women?

Remember when the Winter Soldier was built up across three films and the careful story telling to turn him into a hero? Remember how Spider-Man was re-introduced to everyone? Remember how carefully laid the plans were for Thanos? Yep, neither do the head honchos at Disney.
  • I liked that Cassie was just a normal girl before. It made it so much more impactful that her dad got drawn into this whole superhero crap. I would have much rather seen someone who was just brought along for the ride , who is afraid of losing her father again after the Blip, and is trying to get to know him all over again. …Buuuuut nope she’s gotta be another genius girl boss.
  • Do the writers really think that teenagers are so stuck up they’d hate their father after he died for 4 years trying to save the universe? If that happened to me I would appreciate them forever
  • @BillHrpr
“She looks like she gets her haircut in a vending machine” made my choke on my food 🤣🤣🤣
  • "Every teenage girl is a scientific megagenius that creates star-trek level technology, in their bedroom, in spare time... For fun" 😂
  • @BigBoss15310
I love how these citizens of the Quantum Realm under Kang's ironfist rule all of a sudden found the courage to rebel at the tower solely because Cassie the activist took ownership of the Zoom call
  • Each new Ant-Man movie seems to drift further from the idea that the normal world is a completely different and fantastical place when viewed from a miniaturized perspective. That gave the first movie a lot of charm and a distinctively grounded feel that has completely disappeared by this point
  • @WarriorPleb
Michael Pena not being casted in this was a huge red flag to begin with 😂 I miss antman's OG team with polka dot man, T.i. and Pena.

“Scott you may have helped saved the universe with the Avengers, but what have you done lately?! You gotta do better Scott, you gotta step up!” -Scott’s Family

One thing I am beginning to notice with more recent Marvel releases is that the threat continuously comes not from the villain itself but that the protagonists just makes a stupid mistake that puts him or her and the others all in jeopardy. All of this just boils down to simple fact that screenwriters can't think of anything narratively meaningful and so all they can do is to have the characters create a problem in order to have them solve it. Genius writing.

It felt like Cassie is an apathetic psychopath. She never showed any emotions of love, fear, anger, etc. She actually never cared what happens to others or anything. She doesn't want to help anyone, she just want to show off something she's not. Also her hair and face looked good even after an intense battle. The only bearable character was Scott Lang in the entire movie
