'Social cleansing': Thousands of homeless SWEPT UP before Paris Olympics

Publicado 2024-07-25
The Paris Olympics have provided an excuse to turn the host city into a security state overrun by police, military, barricades, and AI-powered surveillance technology. In brutal yet predictable fashion, authorities have reportedly been sweeping homeless encampments, rounding up unhoused people, and expelling them by bus to other parts of France ahead of the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Reporting from Paris, TRNN's Dave Zirin speaks with Paul Alauzy, a project manager at Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World) and an organizer of Le Revers de la Médaille (The Other Side of the Medal) campaign.

My honest opinion is simply this, Paris enabled a climate of crime, vandalism, homelessness, mi grant in vasion, etc., and I for one will Boycott the Paris Olympics entirely... not visiting, not watching and not supporting the games. Oh, and to add insult to injury, Olympic Authorities along with the Climate Accord said, athletic participants need to bring their own air conditioning because the Olympic Committee put a ban on AC units in the Olympic Village for athletes -- it is all part of the 'Climate Accord' nonsense.

You don't need to drive away homeless people for an international event if your society and system never produces large number of homeless people in the first place.
  • With the money France is making from the Olympics and spent. They could have housed an help rehabilitate the homeless.

Also, looking forward to the coverage of strikes I’ve heard are going to happen!
  • Thank you for covering Social cleansing in Paris, and protests.
  • Indeed, they did the same in San Francisco when Chinese delegate visited. France, the UK US collective west supposed to be first world countries, actually having increased homelessness says it all.
  • Compares that to Qatar's Games hahahaha

I’m definitely more conflicted than I’ve been before about the Olympics, but I am still looking forward to quite a few of the events. I still believe the Olympics can be a real force for good rather than a tool for the centre-left to centre-right to project progressivism. The format can be made a lot better. And also I think we need to not let other sports get away with being worse actually. They avoid criticism because they’re made up of so many smaller games hd events. Not one massive two weeks in one place.
