If Democrats care more about climate change than Republicans, then why is Texas the nation’s leader in renewable energy?

Host Jerusalem Demsas talks to Jesse Jenkins (x.com/JesseJenkins?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp…) , an assistant professor at Princeton University, about how the Lone Star State emerged as America’s No. 1 renewable-energy producer, despite its politics—and about the broken bureaucracy that’s preventing more states from going green.

Rogan talked about looking at property in TX and asking the realtor if he could build an ampitheater/ comedy club on it. The realtor blinked and didn't understand what he was asking. Can I? What do you mean? Of course, it's your land build whatever you want. Why wouldn't you be able to? He said he understood then he really wasn't in California anymore.
  • Whether Texas or California or elsewhere, we need to first cover every parking lot, big box store, residential roof, etc. First build out solar where it is going to be used! We don’t need to degrade more open space. Also, covering parking lots, roofs, etc. will help cool homes and parking spaces. And, transmission lines are expensive to maintain and some electricity is lost during transmission. It would be more efficient to use the electricity where it is generated.
  • I have read that solar energy is wasted in some jurisdictions because more is produced than can be used during the peak solar hours of the day and can't be stored. I would be interested in the speaker's view of this issue.
  • I enjoyed listening to this thoughtful podcast. I would enjoy hearing your thoughts on the potential of geothermal energy. Both commercial scale electricity generation and for residential and commercial heating and cooling.
  • 🤫🤫🤫 don’t tell any of the climate change deniers in Texas. Wait… I forgot, it’s always only about the money.

Wind and solar are as smart compared to nuclear as Forest Gump is to Aristotle or Archimedes. Wasting your time talking about how smart forest gump is is DUMB.
