2007 MS3 Vs. 2008 corvett. the camera blurs like crazy at the end but it was a 12.8 @107MPH for my MS3.

I agree with FactoryFreak, I'm making mid 300's from 2009 when i purchased my car. I get on it once in a while and still don't have any issues.

At that time the ecu was not touched. Since then i have gotten a flash to control the electronic throttle, and stop the boost/fuel cut that my car suffered from badly. The "tune" itself is still stock. No changes to fuel, timing, or anything else.

I'm with you on this point. I love my 09 MS3 but it's a nervous wreck to drive it hard always wondering when I'm going to bend that rod. It's just a scary platform right now. I'm starting to wish I had gone with the 09 Cobalt SS Turbo instead. Don't get me wrong, if this car didn't have so many blown engines out there I would be right where I want to be. Also, the car can make power, it just hits a wall at 320 and then a brick wall a little after that. Sucks.

I ran stock 16" wheels off a 2005+ V6 mustang with 26 x 9.5 x 16 hoosier quick time pro slicks. I recently sold this car though. I still have the slicks and will sell them complete with rims for. $300

i had stock turbo, full exhaust, cai, and intercooler upgrade here. look for 11's from me this season !!

nice run. been watching ur progress on some forums. my 08 ms3 has cpe cai, turbo xs dp and rp, cpe cat back, and cpe standback ems tuned at 17 psi. how are your axles holding up? you dumping the clutch near 3k rpm? and how about no lift shifts after 4th gear? trying to get some real world data from someone who actually drives and doesnt just yap about it.

the starting lights were even, but the vett left on me pretty bad. i had a shitty reaction time this run. i ended up closing the gap by the end of the race though. he beat me by half a car.

Hey tru-boost, What kind of slicks you are running? Brand, wheelsize, tire size? Thanks!
  • @boost331
The car dynoed 300/337 at that time. I dropped 7 tenths just by running slicks. Seach youtube for my other videos from that same track day. 13.1 and 13.0 for my first 2 runs. Also you can search any mazda forum or photobucket for my user name TRU-BOOST. You will see my car and i are well know.

i'm not quite sure what you guys want. a cheap, quality, affordable 4 cylinder daily driver that can be modded to output 600 hp? scott is right on saying that it does it job for what it is...an econobox daily driver with some spunk. if you want v8 power get a v8. you can't squeeze a gallon of juice out of an apple.
  • @TrueRedMS3
so you're saying you ran a 12.8 with 300 whp or less? anddddddd being fwd? I have a speed3 and that seems pretty far fetched. Maybe i'm just missing something tho
  • @jojomajesty
yo tru-boost...did you have a fuel pump on during these runs?
  • @11cruzito11
Hey Tru-Boost, I emailed you about your set up. I'm interested in buying them.
  • @boost331
I was running hoosier QTP slicks and launching with a 2step at 5000rpm
  • i disagree with this statement. the motor and the turbo motor alone is wards top ten best 3 years straight. also i dont know where you spent your money at for mods but i can tell you. i have less than 2500 in my speed and im at 364 whp on a mustang dyno and i should run a 12 flat. this has been one of the most reliable cars i have ever owned. my gto was heavily modded and ran the same time.l you just need a good tune on what ever you drive or mod point blank i love all cars v8 or 4 banger

I do not believe these cars are crap, they are 23 grand new, if you want to go drag racing or get big power put some forged internals in there, it is also a very poor choice for drag racing as its a hot hatchback, anybody can get big power out of a V-8, but for a small cheap and fun car the Speed 3 is one of the best, it does lap the nurburgring at 8.39, exact same as a honda S2000 and 1 second quicker than a standard corvette!
  • @boost331
Hell NO !! These cars are crap. Tons of mods for nothing. They dont make any power. Oh and the engines break a lot. Even bone stock engines blow all the time. 2 months after i sold mine the guy blew it up !! I will be sticking with fords. They have always served me well. I'm thinking about an 03-04 cobra next !!
