Mumbai, India’s Transforming MEGACITY is home to five transportation megaprojects under construction throughout this city of 25 million. This short documentary explores each piece of infrastructure and the larger goal of transforming Mumbai, India’s entertainment and financial capital, into a powerful megaregion by the middle of the century.

The biggest project that will bring a lot of benefit to Mumbai that isn't mentioned is 100km of new storm water tunnels, 50+ pumping stations and 15+ water treatment plants. They aren't sexy projects but their impact is noticeable.
  • That auto rickshaw driver is more profound and articulate in his thoughts than I would ever be. Thanks for sharing such a great video.❤
  • @supriyodutta1894
If our MLA are as educated and understanding as this man (auto driver) then India could transform much faster and efficiently ...... hats off to this man who chooses nature over greedy needs of life 😊😊😊😊
  • @Amarna20
At this Point what Mumbai truly needs is a stable government so that the megaprojects do not stop or get delayed due to political interests
  • @missy6361
Mumbai is an extremely difficult city to live in, no matter how wealthy you are. Born and raised here.
  • @martin96991
Humanity is alive, when we see man like him.👏👏👏

Powerful takeaway “if you co-operate with nature, nature will co-operate with you”
  • @AK-nz9se
mumbai does not mean mother in marathi it is named after mumbadevi, a local godess
  • @dhawan925
As someone from Delhi, i understand the importance of metros. I was in Bangalore recently and the money and time wasted to travel from one place to other is massive. Thankgod Delhi is much better than these cities in public infrastructure .
  • @k-map224
There is another new mega project that wasrecently announced that would change the face of Mumbai City and is the re-development of Dharavi slum that is one of the world's largest slum enclaves. There always used to be this talk in the past to transform Mumbai into the Shanghai of India and with this project completed Mumbai might start looking like what it aspired to be or even better it hopefully 🤞
  • @hemanthkumar5438
One of the biggest curse of India is mega cities and centralisation, if non-metro areas and smaller cities were planned and expanded throughout India, population of cities like Mumbai won't go up.
  • @pritishjena5393
I am impressed with the last part of the video.an autorickshaw driver speaking in fluent English and having the knowledge of nature still earning 8dollars per day.but want nothing more than to protect the natural beauty God has created.hats off to the gentleman.God bless U.
  • @amanmanaji6642
Man this is such a well made video i live in Mumbai and the things he said make sense the cost road is a flagship project i love that it has prominad and greenspace but it cuts rhe view for lowrises, skyscrapers of mymbai have no issues, personall the metro is my favourite project its green and it will help mumbai to be less car dependent and that's what we should aim for to be like Europian public transit cities and not like American car dependent ones
  • @dwarasamudra8889
There are also many other megaprojects like the BDD Worli redevelopment, the Mithi Riverfront Development, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail line, the Dharavi redevelopment, Bhendi Bazaar Redevelopment, the redevelopment of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, the upgradation of the Suburban Network to all AC cars etc
  • @user-gb6rf7lb3i

  • @rollsroyce4249
India is undergoing massive infrastructure development. Soon it will become world's third largest economy.
  • @nishchaypallav
Mumbai deserves the best infra of India, sadly it never happened. Finally we're getting there. Love you Mumba-aai. :)
  • As a Mumbaikar who moved two decades ago to London this video makes me proud and hopeful. Mumbai is undoubtedly the best city in India in terms of its people, it’s lifestyle and culture. Its the only city in India where you can enjoy total freedom. Love to Mumbai
  • @kaiirshad
I grew up in this Mega city and now live in UK whilst frequently travelling to the other countries in the EU. The video fairly depicts the happenings at the ground level. The projects mentioned along with the a handful more that are in the pipeline, are helping Mumbai catch up to the west. Hope that the struggle that the residents are going through over the past few years with the construction work everywhere will come with a long term relief in the end. Kudos!
