    I think it's interesting that the chain chomp was originally intended to be a Zelda character instead of a Mario one. Of course, they have been since seen as two similar, but separated creatures. With the ones in Zelda known as BowWows. (Of course, as mentioned in-game and other sources. BowWows, unlike Chain Chomps, have "fur".)
