2023 BMW M2 review! The new BMW M2 feels like an old-school M car, with small sizing, a 6-cylinder engine, and a 6-speed manual transmission -- and today, I'm going to review it. I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the M2, and then I'm going to get behind the wheel of the new 2023 BMW M2 and review the driving experience.

I dont think anyone was mad about the wide fenders at all
  • @MrCashMoneyD18
I thought people were upset about the front end mainly not the fenders. The fenders have been the part of this car since it was shown. The side profile in general is really cool. The bumpers just feel over squared and chamfered. Oh and the rear under the taillights that Doug pointed out is terrible.

I think the biggest issue people had with it (myself included) is the out of place blocky rear bumper. The rest of the car isn’t too bad looking, but some of the styling cues don’t match the rest of the body. It’s grown on me a bit, but the rear bumper is just too out there

this was the best Doug review ive ever watched. honest, objective, and gave the car and manufacturer the credit they deserve while acknowledging the publics knack to over criticize and then recant years later. thank you Doug

I never complained about the fenders, the thing that puts me off slightly is the grill just looks a little too boxy for the rest of the car.
  • @zollotech
Saw one of these at the dealer the other day. Looks pretty good, but the front grill is more rectangular than I expected, but finally BMW got rid of that huge grill.

I drove a 2019 M2 comp Manual and it drove like an absolute dream, I can only imagine how this new 6 speed will feel, pulling up hills cracking through the gears was just amazing
  • @ogloko
I love the wide fenders. I actually like it, it looks pretty good. I especially like the front end and that it’s manual.
  • @realbarries
To me, fenders look amazing, no complaints there. The things I don’t like about the car are the front and rear bumpers. Not a fan of how boxy and angular they are. Liked the outgoing M2 bumpers much better. This car will definitely look so much better with some kind of body kit or F/R bumpers… and a aggressive hood too.
  • @DerCharacter
I think the M2 Pro version will be better, the Max and Ultra versions might be a bit too expensive.
  • Seeing it in full detail now it’s kind of a breath of fresh air to me, yes the rear is blocky but looks nice tho, I recently lost my X5 so I’m hurt atm
  • @gbekkema
Love it where Doug say's that there is no delay in the infotainment, literally while showing the enormous delay and stuttering. Priceless
  • @josephcrus370
I like how Doug is trying to persuade us to buy the new m2
  • @MG-ot2yr
I just bought a 2024 M2 a few days ago, its black sapphire with manual transmission. So far its been truly enjoyable to drive, and I like the wide fenders! Yea I agree with the normal grill vs the M3/M4 that looks like a whale shark! I've always had manual BMWs, the one before this one was a 2015 435....and I can say if you're familiar with manual BMWs it does shift as expected, no surprises that I've found.
  • what he said about the clutch is SO true lol. I love my standard 335i but it took so long to get used to
  • @416tdot647
The weight of this vehicle is one my biggest gripes and I'm very surprised Doug didn't touch on this point.
  • @piersyem5253
From the feedback I've heard, most of the complaints regarding styling are about the front end. If anything most of the positive feedback seems to be the flared fenders. M2 CS or M2 CSL will be interesting.
  • @DailyDownshift
You're 100% right, this car is a BEAST. I'm enjoying it a lot more than any of my previous F87's and base C8 stingray, great review Doug!
  • The infotainment screen reminds me of a Jeep Grand Cherokee's that I rented recently. Except, the Jeep's had a hot-button row along the bottom so you can always go to any mode at any time. I also think the Jeep had more choices for dash layout. The exterior styling of the M2 reminds me of a Ford rally car from the 1980's. The panels fit about as good as a rally car's also. E49s are pretty, this thing seems more cobbled together.
