These people traveled around the earth in the 1400s to disprove flat earthers, yet we still have them 😂

I'm Filipino so this is required learning in our schools from 3rd grade until high school. But man, you've outdone every book and documentary I've ever read or watched about Magellan's epic journey. Unbelievable work! Subscribed 👌

Not me screaming “Enrique” the whole video, he truly was the first person to circumnavigate the world

@Map Pack growing up in Guam as a kid in the 90’s you were taught this entire voyage in our school curriculum. When I moved stateside to continue high school, even my high school history teacher didn’t know the full events behind Magellan’s voyage. I had to fact check him several times. My history teacher had a new found respect for my random knowledge of the Magellan’s voyage, and he in turn became my favorite high school teacher. This is why I love History, it brings people together :)

My dad is Filipino, my last name is Datu, and I grew up in Spain. In school in Spain they taught us Magellan was injured and perished of the wound infection on his route back to Spain. The voyage of Magellan was one of the questions in my history final exam. In my answer, I explained how Magellan wasn’t injured, but paid the final price for his arrogance at the hands of moro warriors in Magtan. My professor gave me full credit for that answer, but never made any comments about it either. To this day, I still wonder if he even bothered to read it and if he did, if he double checked his resources.

Im Cebuano, I lived specifically in Mactan Where Magellan Died, Since 2008 I read about enrique, Since then I truly believed he is the first one who circumnavigate the world but got no credits from it since he's a slave,
-
Respect to this guy for trying to pronounce the names correctly You really commited
-
Imagine enrique's expression when he sees his homeland after navigating west, i feel like he realized the earth was round
-
This video with map illustrations explained it better than the plain history books I've read.

Enrique is a FILIPINO OFW in his time.. overseas Filipino worker!!!!
-
Enrique is likely from a royal lineage. It is the job of royalty to facilitate trade so they have to learn many languages. They usually live in different places to learn different cultures and languages as well as forge alliances. It’s possible that Enrique himself is from a native Cebuano speaking place, not necessarily Cebu itself, maybe Mindanao. Or that he was there at some point to learn the language as a kid.

Story of Magellan is fascinating. This would be a hit in a hollywood movie where Enrique is the main character.
-
As a Filipino, I got plentiful and more detailed of Magellan's voyage.. Great story and representation. Keep up your work
-
I dont understnd how this only has 850 views this is great

The Filipino people have always been hospitable and welcoming. Shame greedy Europeans took advantage of such humble folk.
-
This is the only youtube video that I watched from the beginning till the end that I did not skipped or fast forwarded.
-
Huh, if Enrique is from the “Philippines” (it wasn’t called that before the actual spanish colonizers came), a filipino/malay/indo officially circumnavigates the world first 😮😮😮
-
This would really be a great movie.

Wow. I enjoyed watching the whole video and got more understanding and knowledge about the voyage. Thank you for this and I subscribed for more videos like this!
