This hack is like a lot of dreams I’ve had. Everything’s familiar but slightly off, there’s some creepy parts, and architecture is impossibly big.

Bathaniel: "Can I enter these other rooms now?" Enters room Bathaniel: Yeah. Mario: YEAH!

I really hope this hack becomes a series and gets explored right to the fricking bottom, it's just so good

Something I noticed: whenever the red mist affect was on screen, the music sounds strange, borderline creepy. The main castle theme is played in a ominous key. I remember seeing a creepypasta hack very similar to this a while ago. Also, that one term you were locking for is “liminal spaces.” It’s not just hallways - any space that is kind of meant to just be passed through can count. From what I can tell, the whole concept is kind of based off of the fact that since it’s just the space between two points, strange things can happen and only the ones that were directly involved will notice.

The sudden extra stars you got around the fifth minute were the work of the yellow switch. It also is why you permanently lost your hat (this is written to the save, and won't be cleared even if you manage to retrieve it).
  • It still feels so good to be back at the boulders with some Mario 64 Rom Hacks!

This totally looks like something my 9 year old brain dreamed up when I played way too much Mario 64, so chopped and distorted lol
  • There's so much to this hack. It's literally the longest, most confusing game of all time. And there are games that exist that can be really confusing to play, like NES TLOZ. This game somehow takes that and multiplies it by infinity. It's so confusing that even people trying to speedrun getting 100% in this hack don't even know how many stars there actually are.

You've barely even scratched the surface of this game, and I hope you play more

The yellow switch permanently removes your hat and you can't get it back, the yellow switch is based on an SM64 old rumor from what I know.
  • This hack is based off of the Mario 64 beta evil sentient AI, and it does a good job at replicating the theory and giving you the curiosity of discovery.

Mr. Nandy stretches the image to widescreen, acknowledges B3313’s aspect ratio setting, and doesn’t change it to match. Why.
  • @gavinisback
Glad to have you back Bathaniel! Also make sure Wario doesn’t get you in later episodes.

The fact that everyone experiences the game differently is so cool because it’s pointing to the theory that every sm64 game is personalized
