Those influencers were starting to get to me but u made me lock in thanks bro

Great video mate, nailed it! 100% agree, cones are a great tool, and young players have to be aware of what content they are watching. Because a lot of the content in today's world purposely claim crazy things just to get views on social media. Keep up the good work and good luck for the upcoming season!

Come drills should be a go to, but you should be using a tripod with numbers or a tennis ball. Come drills if done wrong are bad for you and build bad habits of looking down. Come drills make you good on cones itā€™s like doing ball mastery it makes your sharper but thereā€™s no reaction in it unless like I said you use a stimulus like I said
  • @Speegsy
After watching the video and understanding where youā€™re coming from id like to mention a few things. Cone drills in my opinion are purely supplemental itā€™s not gonna make you worse, but itā€™s a supplement to the real training you should be doing. I thought cone drills would improve my dribbling, but what made me better was actually just dribbling in games and constantly thinking about keeping the ball close in tight areas. Als, Musiala didnā€™t become that good of a dribbler purely based off cone drills. The 80% of what made him this good was playing football at a young age and progressing his talent as he grew, because when heā€™s dribbling itā€™s all instinctual. Iā€™ve seen a lot of talented dribblers and wondered how they got this good and the answer they always give is ā€œI donā€™t know itā€™s just naturalā€ bare in mind these guys donā€™t do cone drills. Like I said if you wanna use it as a warm up itā€™s fine, but it can never the primary reason you get better at dribbling. Itā€™s there to help sharpen your dribbling ability but it wonā€™t give you one. Tldr Cone weaves donā€™t give you the dribbling ability itā€™s supplemental and we can agree on that. Flow state dribbling and dribbling in games (small sided or big sided) is gonna improve it more.

Finally Iā€™ve always told them they are trying to scam people šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ those ā€œnatural footballersā€
  • Iā€™ve done both cone drills and free play for countless hours, cone drills can help with mental fortitude and certain moves, of course you should prioritize free play and football in order to become better, in reality cone drills are not necessary, if you really want to get better grab a ball and play anywhere and everywhere you can, courts, turf, grass, dirt, learn to do this alone and youā€™ll find that football can be like an adventure taking you to different locations and places, a variety of atmospheres where you meet different people, donā€™t be so overly concerned with going pro, football should be about freedom and exploring your own capabilities.

I do say that football entangled has helped me a lot along with drills. Because he told me to do wall passes, juggling, dribbling, shooting barefoot with helped me a lot. He also helped me with playing street football in cages most days throughout the week which helps me more than cone drills. But cone drills helped me with technique a lot and change in direction but not nearly as much as street football. Edit: also fascia training helped me a lot and I mean a lot especially with speed, dribbling, agility and shooting
  • Wow you really provided good evidence. This has been a hot topic recently but Iā€™ve always been skeptical about the people who say cone drills are bad and you should never do them because all of the top players do them lol. I agree mixing it up and doing actual 1v1s and stuff is probably even more important then cone drills but still cone drills are brilliant and very useful.
  • assuming that at a certain level of cone drill practicing you can try incooperating them less and work on forming instinctual forms of dribbling. they can also be used to make drills harder or more intense like finishing
  • @Patrick.Nielsen
Big inspiration for me!! Iā€™ve just started my own channel were i do the same like you beacuse of you!! Big up to you broski!!
  • @Damonstahhh
Top video bro! going to show this to my nephew, and try make use myself. Getting into football to support him, I have the athleticism, just lack the skill. Easy sub from me
  • @benhadaway3322
IDP is great. I had a dog that used to love chasing the ball. I'd throw a few cones in the yard and dribble around doing various moves and the dog would chase me. Just make sure you let him get it every once in a while (he wanted the ball two).
  • @ibelrafie
When you said that it was ā€œentangled footballerā€ I was like ā€œahh yes, shut that idiot up pleaseā€ that guyā€™s account is full of nonsense like ā€œdonā€™t go to the gym because going to the gym makes you bulky and slowā€ no it doesnā€™t, you can do specific workouts that are soccer specific šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø On this topic, I actually find cone drills useful, but Iā€™m also someone who likes variety in my training so Iā€™ll do things like long passes, cone drills, 1v1ā€™s, etc to work on all areas of my gameā€¦ Itā€™s definitely an added value though, not a deterrent to your game, I think some one here mentioned that itā€™s something supplemental to your training and I slightly agree there, I think itā€™s a value add, if you incorporate itā€™s definitely going to help, but not doing it isnā€™t going to make you worse as long as you still do other forms of dribbling like instinctive dribbling or 1v1ā€™s and you can also various forms of cone drills like the Neymar dribbling drill or the Ronaldinho one. TLDR: Donā€™t listen to Entangled Footballer take advice from players or coaches that have a decent level of experience and knowledge of the game to help you.
  • @Attic5058
thank you bro these accounts were slowly convincing me could you also make a video about the gym stuff how these people say lifting weights is bad
  • @Jj_2723
My thoughts exactly. Great job bro. First time seeing you on my feed. Great content!

Good video mate, it's well researched and I think you raised some really good points. I've coached football for almost a decade now and there's a few things I wanted to add In my opinion cones are great for two things: Getting a solid foundation of ball mastery and training when you're alone. If you've already developed a good foundation of ball mastery, running through cones will no longer have as much benefit in developing your dribbling or 1 v 1 ability. The reason for this is that, being a good dribbler is a combination of ball mastery, agility, speed and reaction speed and cones cannot replicate this. You're only training one or two aspects - ball mastery and maybe agility (there's debate as to whether cones even train agility). Neymar/Musiala, are using their dribbling skills as a solution to being surrounded by their opponents, and cones can't offer this constraint. It's a predetermined route that you go through, so you're not training your body/mind to react to small changes in the opponents movement/momentum - like the grealish clip you mentioned. As you mentioned the best way to develop your dribbling is through varied 1 v 1s with pressure from different angles - behind, infront, to the side. Multiple opponents, from different directions. The more you do this, the more you will become comfortable escaping pressure in match situations. So if you're a beginner then yes, 100% use the cones to improve your confidence with the ball at your feet. If you're already competent, most of your time should be spent dribbling against real opponents in game situations.

Just seen the thumbnail and saw it a was a picture from you playing against me in the fa youth cup a couple years back.
  • @PitchPro7
Btw about what you said on ā€œno more practicing cone drills for more than 30 minutesā€ that depends on your level. If your an amateur player than yes I would agree on that if your a semi pro maybe 45 minutes and if your a pro probably 60-80 minutes please share your opinion
  • @edwardobeng3107
Great vid. I really wanna see more of how this reflects into games so could u post a highlight reel of yourself or smth.
