  • Roth's low-key interview style grew on me. It's very laid-back and honest.

Huge contrast between today and back then ...they were so much more relaxed, calm, focused. Now, look at Youtube for example, the more popular are just all over the place mouthy toolbag personalities.

Neil Young could give a Fuck about what people think of him. Brilliant!

I feel like I'm on a 1st name basis with Neil. I'm sure most people feel the same way. He's so unpretentious, straight forward, unaffected- there is nothing he says or does that doesnt feel completely honest and real. I dont get that from other big stars.

This is the best Neil interview I've seen. Really fascinating lines in there.

Youtube has made me realize how much stuff I have missed in my life. 2020 and i'm just now seeing this interview! I got alot of catching up to do!

What made this interview so great was the connection between Tim Roth and Neil Young. As always Neil has an interesting perspective on life and his music. He refuses to become an old fart.

I really feel like"rocking in the free world" is and will go down in history as one of the most important musical expressions that the world will ever witness 😎🔈🔉🔊🎸🎷📻🎤🔉🎵🎼🎶📻

Love this! One of the more "lit up" interviews I've seen of him in a few decades. Prob the laid back way Roth did the interview opened that up. Very cool.
  • Neil has the BEST sense of humor. He kills me with the way he'll just say something real straight, not hinting or giving any indication that he's being humorous, but once in a while you'll see him give a sly little smile off to the side when he's finished what he was saying. Its a dry sense of humor but he just slays me with it. His eyes give him away to me. They have a sneaky little twinkle in them, like he's just waiting to see who picks up on what he's saying, who got it that he was being funny. He just makes me laugh out loud. And I love the sly, little smile he'll give sometimes. He's so cool. So honest and true in his words. He explains the way he feels or does things so well. There's not much filter between what he thinks and what he says, which I LOVE. He's just my hero, idol, rock God, perfect musician, perfect human being, my absolute EVERYTHING! I just LOVE him, no matter what.

Fantastic interview of Neil, the best I ever seen him do, and I have been a fan since 1971

What a superb interview ! Been noted below a number of times. But this is one of the few, 'real' interviews I've ever listened to.. Good old Neil.

Those were the days my friend we though they'd never end. Now that we're, that "older generation" and the government takes and takes more. Oh well, that's llife. They can take it all, except the memories ingrained in our minds. We'll always rock on!
  • Neil : So how’s the interviewer thing going? Not really you, is it? I hear you’re a pretty good actor. Tim: Well, I might keep it up. I’ve just done this Reservoir Dogs film. Hopefully that might take off for me. But interviewing is my first love.

this is so amazing. i've never seen this before; what a phenomenal piece of history. this really bucks the television-talk model so much. they're two intelligent humans TALKING about things. maybe the closest thing on popular television to this, nowadays, are some interviews on Bill Maher's show, where you can tell the guests are really talking, really thinking in the moment & being real.
  • @dougerhard2128
"Which one of us was buzzing?" I think that would be you, Neil.

The Trans album is helping me bridge the gap between beats on my Akai Drum machine and my acoustic guitar in ways of playing down beats for songs. Electronic folk rock will live on and so will Neil Young's ways of translating it.
  • Interesting that Neil Young has epilepsy and that Tim Roth played Vincent Van Gogh who had temporal lobe epilepsy. They really seem to hit it off, esply after when Tim went off script with those stupid cards & turned it into a true conversation.
