I remember when Robin passed away almost 10 years ago and all social media kept saying was, "Genie, you're free." Miss him so much.
  • @symonew33
Ruff went from “I would never be on a magic carpet it’s so unsafe“ to “imagine what it would be like to fuck on a magic carpet” 😂😂😂

Fun fact: The merchant at the start of the movie is Genie in disguise. They originally were going to reveal it at the end of the movie but for whatever reason they changed it. They put clues like the merchant being the only other character besides Genie who has only 4 fingers on each hand, he has the lamp that Genie picked up at the end, and both are voiced by Robin Williams. To be honest I wish they kept that reveal in.

Improvised!? Robin Williams improvised so much they had to animate around him. He improvised so much, that they still have 30 hours of unreleased recordings thanks to his improv. He improvised so much, the script could no longer be considered for Best Adapted Screenplay due to how much original content was in it by Williams.

God, with…with the way Robin died, and knowing the depression he suffered for so long, hearing Genie celebrate so joyously and unrestrainedly for being free at the end…it makes me weep freely every time. Even seeing it in reactions. Especially when Aladdin hugs him. It feels like he’s hugging Robin for all of us. Thank you, Robin Williams. We ain’t never had…a friend like you.
  • Despite not being a trained singer, Robin Williams slayed the role of The Genie. I love how he made the songs "Friend Like Me" and "Prince Ali" sound so jazzy and Broadway-esque. Rest in peace, Robin. We truly will never have a friend like you.

There’s like over 16 hours of Robin Williams genie outtakes, it’s crazy

5:24 my dad owned doves because he was a magician and those birds were ridiculously stupid. To the point that they’d lay eggs while on the top perch and the eggs would just drop down and shatter at the bottom of the cage. I cannot underline how DUMB some birds actually are.

So tempted to tell them to watch Twisted after this reaction 😂
  • @MewDenise
This just reminds me we haven't had a princess movie with the "prince" as the main character for so long now.

I find the art style of Aladdin to be very appealing because it was inspired by the late legendary artist, Al Hirschfeld. His art style consists of smooth, curvy, and wavy lines. You can see those elements in the character designs from the film, especially with Genie’s design.
  • As a middle eastern man I have no idea how many times Aladin aired on TV And everyone in the room dropped everything to watch it This is a god damn master piece of a movie And man did I love the TV shows and the sequels And the Robin williams as Genie is a nation treausure
  • @KayElleBea
Now that y’all watched Aladdin you should watch the Starkid production of Twisted, it’s a spoof musical where Jafar is actually the good guy and Aladdin is the villain. It’s SO funny, and free on YouTube to watch
  • @OceanStorm12
Since you watched this, you should totally watch Twisted by Team Starkid. It’s a musical parody of Aladdin and it’s on YouTube. The premise is based on the broadway musical “Wicked”. In the musical, Jafar is the main character and is actually the good guy.
  • @KingVasuki
Bro, I have to say: the scene of Aladdin freeing the genie never fails to make me tear up. I guess I'm just a softie for ending eons of slavery.
  • @scienceandponies
You guys should check out "Twisted" by Starkid. A stage musical they put up fully on YouTube. Basically what Wicked is to the Wizard of Oz, but with Aladdin. Jafar is a super earnest vizier just trying to make things better for the people but because he's ugly everyone assumes he's evil. Aladdin is a creep in his mid 30's hitting on the 16 year old princess. The prince who got his pants bitten by the tiger becomes a major character and is deeply offended they all treat him like a throwaway joke. Hilarious, heartwarming, tear jerking, and great musical numbers.

Aladdin is Such a Incredible classic I absolutely love it every time
  • @GirlofCulture
Jafar was like one of the competent Disney Villains ever.. also his motivation.. Just mentioning in the 90's tv series of Aladdin Jasmin gets turned into a rat so she has to life it for a while and by the end he told her father about the poor people "Poor people? There are actual poor people in Agrabha?" ... So his land is ruled by an idiot.
  • @cgsoldier4196
Funny enough. The singing voice for Jasmine is the singing voice for Mulan, the iconic Lea Salonga
  • @MrDevintcoleman
The color choices in this are so great! A lot of really cold blues right next to warm reds and yellows.
