Fun Fact: Pascal was actually inspired by a producer's pet chameleon named Pascal.

42:05 Fun fact! The whole magical tears thing is from the original fairy tale! The witch makes briars rip out the prince’s eyes, but when Rapunzel finds him (after giving birth to twins and wandering the desert bald for two years), she cries on his empty eye sockets and the eyes heal back!

If I remember correctly, Zachary Levi auditioned for Flynn Rider because he wanted to voice a character in Kingdom Hearts. I found that both hilarious and oddly heartwarming to know he was such a fan of the series that he’d do that.

35:00 " It's so cute! But it can only go downhill before the uphill. Oh g-" " JUST ENJOY IT, GOD DAMMIT!!" " BASK IN THE GLORY THAT IS THIS SCENE!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • One of the things I realized after growing up is that Gothels plan wasn’t just going to use her hair for the rest of Rapunzel’s natural life. That witch was gonna straight up keep her locked up in that tower FOREVER.

Mother Gothel's picture belongs in the Dictionary next to the definition for Gaslight.

Man this is such a good movie and strong start to the 2010s for Disney animation. Kinda sucks that it got overshadowed by Frozen and then the Marvel and Star Wars and the crappy remakes. It’s fun and classic, has a great villain, beautiful animation and music. It definitely fits with the 90s Disney films even though it’s CG animated.
  • /facepalm.... I just realized this is pre-Zootopia Nick and Judy. The blackmail to keep the other around. The naive but optimistic girl and the pessimistic conman who fall in love.

Fun fact: the magic healing tear is actually a reference to the original Brothers Grimm fairytale story

Oh you guys should absolutely react to Tangled the Series if/when you have the chance- There's a short film thing called Tangled: Before Ever After that's like an intro to the series, that's like 50 ish minutes long, so I'd recommend watching that first. The series itself is 3 seasons long and has a fantastic plot, so much lore, BANGNING songs and is overall and incredible watch!

That's not just a pan, that looks like a cast iron skillet. You gotta be strong as hell to swing those that easily.

With a budget of $260 million, it's not only the most expensive animated film in Disney animation history, but it seems they've really taken a page from Shrek's meta humor and spun it into their own with Tangled! The main voices Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi did a splendid job voicing the lead characters Rapunzel and Flynn Rider respectively. I still think this movie was robbed of an Oscar win for Best Original Song. I See the Light is quite a heartfelt song. If you guys ever catch the Oscar performance of this song where Mandy and Zach sing this live, it's quite phenomenal. Especially since they're accompanied by the piano playing of Disney composer great Alan Menken.

My favorite fun fact about this movie, Rider's voice actor, Zachary Levi, has said one reason he took the role was for the chance that he could be in a Kingdom Hearts game and he got that wish with Kingdom Hearts 3.

As many others have said, this was Disney's first fully CGI movie. The animators working on this film had to create new animating technology/techniques to be able to make all of this happen, making Tangled the most expensive animated Disney movie they've ever made. I can't imagine how grueling it must've been, but they pulled it off perfectly. Kudos to the team.

It's amazing how different this movie sounds in the original audio. Here in Brazil they called several professional voice actors, but Flynn was voiced by a TV presenter who didn't know anything about acting, and that just killed the movie for a lot of people here.
  • @Rowski1
This is one of the best Disney movies ever it’s so endearing and has some of the best characters and background characters out of all of Disney’s production
  • @Phoboskomboa
Them having questions about the magic and expecting it to never be explained, meanwhile the tv series is 3 seasons of doing exactly that in great detail.
  • Tangled is an Underrated Classic, so is the tv series that follows it. (i'm still mad at Disney's excuse of not making spin-off shows of certain characters because of ''lack of popularity'' or something)

I got the answer for H-man's question on her stopping to age herself: No, she can technically can continue to age but there's something inside of her body that leads her to physically age out from youth to elderly. Literally, how the power works is like mending a dying flower. When you take care of a flower garden or have like plants in their home, they can still age but with them, without good treatment, they would eventually die out whether how young or old they have lasted. So with good use of sunlight, water and fertilizer they eventually would last possibly decades until something cause their routine to change and end up dying entirely. That's basically the ordeal with Rapunzel's magic hair: the magic is the "routine" Mother Gothel wants to continue on the youthful appearance for centuries. Like Flynn mentioned in the beginning, she has been using this flower for hundreds of years. She's literally a flower continuing to stay youth by the "treatment" she was getting from the sun flower, now of Rapunzel's hair. As as for the owner herself, it wouldn't stop her from aging -- not like being a vampire that will stay at a certain age for centuries, but would still age but the body would stay young throughout the years if she used it the same way as Gothel did. She could cure any illness, as it did for her mother, but the youthful thing is just more appearance wise. Funny how your question made me realize this despite years of loving this film. Glad you watched it, and hopefully would watch Tangled: After Ever and then the series. You guys would absolutely love the series!
