Aesthetic Info: Cryptidcore is traditionally associated with cryptozoology, or the study of creatures from urban legends and folklore, and the glorification and idolization of cryptids, conspiracies, and all-around mystery. Cryptidcore is also, generally vintage, and takes visual inspiration, especially with regards to fashion, from the 1970s - 90s.

Slightly off topic, but at this point I'm convinced that Mother Mother just hired a violinist that is high 24/7, told them to "just do their thing" and this is how we got a lot of their songs
  • This playlist makes me feel like a mischievous unknown Forest creature and a friendly eldrich monstrosity at the same time and I love it.

this playlist, buzzfeed unsolved: supernatural, and random national parks in the spring, hiking, cheezits, running through the forest from nothing in particular, birds my aesthetic lmao

Cabinet man by Lemon Demon and Turn The Lights Off by Tally Hall make me feel like I want to transcend reality and become THE superior being. Good playlist.

You're on the hunt for cryptids. Not to actually hunt them, of course. You'd just love to be friends.

Brings me back to recovering turtles in creeks and sneaking out to night bike with the other neighborhood kids. ✨🔥

  • I was looking for a playlist to listen to and for some reason when I saw this my brain kinda went "UM??? UM?????" in a very excited way and I started trembling from excitement. I have seen this playlist recommended to me before and have never reacted in this way to. anything? ever? Not sure how to feel about this. Nice playlist though.

If you think about it and listen in a bit deeper the playlist tells a monster hunting story at first it's excitement and you think it'll just be some fun with friends and that monsters aren't real So everyones camping and getting it all set up and everything is good, people are hanging out and unsurprisingly the cryptid hunting trip gives no results But at night everyone's hearing sounds in the woods inhuman screaming that doesn't sound like foxes or any animal the mood turns cold this joke trip has given them what they wanted but they aren't sticking around to take photos like they thought they're shaking, eyes watering, anxiety spiking they're packing up quickly and getting back in the car And as they're running away they all know damn well they aren't going to be messing around with urban legends and cryptids anymore (this part is told by in the woods somewhere)
  • Saw In The Woods Somewhere and knew this playlist was going to be amazing. I started production on a short film at the beginning of the pandemic, but couldn't continue, and this makes me want to start back up.
