Hermited Ladies and Gentlemen stick to themselves; not because they're antisocial, but because prayer, self-care and work takes up most of our time in day-to-day life. ❤❤❤

Beautiful sisters in Christ, thank you

I think it varies between orders. And for some there is a total comunication blackout when you enter as a novice for a couple of weeks.
  • For those here saying it's culty, there are different disciples among different orders. Not all are the same just because they are nuns. Some can see their original family more than others but in EVERY case, the woman who is discerning this life will visit the order and choose to go there or not for herself. She is aware of what she is getting into before she chooses to commit to it.

I have a cousin who is a nun, and every time, she visits her family she brings them stuff from the convention. They can call and email also.

My nans sister was a nun and we used to travel to see her. I was quite young and she passed a way some years ago now. Was always welcoming and we'd have tea and biscuits. I also went to a convent school with nuns for a few years. They aren't as shut off as they like to imply and do lot of things. So I'm assuming it differs in places.

Thank you, sisters, for answering Jesus’s call. It’s inspiring to see.
  • There will always be a part of me that longs for religious life. Some of the hardest, and most blessed years was becoming a friar. God may have called me to be a husband, and father, but the spark of love for semi-monastic living remains.

Thank you I just appreciate hearing you say that your married to Jesus it brings great joy to my soul for Him and for you ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for answering His call

I can't understand monastic life totally. I can see it has a place for some people, but I couldn't sustain all the requirements.
