Here's this week's ASMR version of my latest video! If you'd refer to watch the FULLY narrated edition, which explains each step shown, you can find that here:    • The Most Popular Pots I Make

Creating miniature jars is the subject of this video, from throwing the components, trimming them all to fit, bisque firing them, waxing them, glazing them and finally reduction firing the tiny vessels to 1290ºC. Phew. Hopefully this video, with all its sped-up segments, give you a good idea of all the sheer repetition there is when creating pottery like this. It's all worth it though, as these are some of my favourite pots I've made in a while.

Thanks for watching!

⏱ • Timestamps:
0:00 - Introduction
0:18 - Weighing and wedging the clay
1:39 - Throwing the bodies of the jars
5:41 - Throwing the lids for the jars
9:05 - Trimming the parts to fit together once leather hard
13:42 - Bisque firing the jars to 1000ºC
15:35 - Waxing the jars
16:57 - Glazing the jars
18:29 - Cleaning up the glazed surfaces
20:35 - Wadding the lids
22:01 - Packing and reduction firing my Rohde KG-340 gas kiln
24:59 - Cracking off the waddings and cleaning the lids
26:06 - The finished vessels...

*It's worth noting! That you won't get the same results as I do if you're firing in oxidation. The reduction firing really helps with this process.

*I throw using both a Rohde HMT 500 & 600 potter's wheel and fire using Rohde kilns too, the electric is a TE-200 and the gas kiln is a KG-340.

Ceramics/anything with clay and sculpting is the best. I love many mediums but ceramics won my heart thanks to year 5 or 6 art classes in school. Now I routinely watch vids like the ones in this channel to just relax and mindfully enjoy the cool process/craftsmanship.
  • i can only imagine how lightweight your pieces are! those walls must be so thin that's incredible!!!
  • This video is mesmerizing! The intricate details of the miniature pottery jars and the soothing ASMR sounds make it such a relaxing watch. The craftsmanship is truly impressive. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and calming experience!

  • I really Love your work, and i always think to myself how could i ever find such a crystal glaze like that in Brasil 🧡
  • I want these as my spice jars, and instead of labeling them, I’d just recognize them all by their distinct shapes
