Dr. Anthony Fauci in conversation with Sean Penn at Live Talks Los Angeles discussing his memoir,
"On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service." This event was taped on June 24

The memoir by the doctor who became a beacon of hope for millions through the COVID pandemic, and whose six-decade career in high-level public service put him in the room with seven presidents.

Dr. Anthony Fauci served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health from 1984 to 2022. He also served as the Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden. He is currently a Distinguished University Professor at Georgetown University with a joint appointment in the School of Medicine and the McCourt School of Public Policy. He has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Science, and the Mary Woodard Lasker Award for Public Service and has been awarded 62 honorary doctoral degrees, and is the author, coauthor, or editor of more than 1,400 scientific publications.

Sean Penn is a two-time Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker and author. In January 2010, Penn established J/P HRO in the immediate aftermath of the catastrophic Haiti earthquake. The emergency relief nonprofit was renamed CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) and continues to bring immediate aid and recovery to underserved communities across the globe.

Anthony Fauci is arguably the most famous doctor in the world today. His role guiding America sanely and calmly through Covid earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history, but this is only part of his story. Over five decades in public health, he’s played a crucial role in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into sympathetic public view and provided leadership in navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises.

His memoir reaches back to his boyhood in Brooklyn, New York, and carries through decades of caring for critically ill patients, navigating the whirlpools of Washington politics, and behind-the-scenes advising and negotiating with seven presidents on key issues from global AIDS relief to infectious disease preparedness at home. On Call is an inspiration for readers who admire and are grateful to him and for those who want to emulate him in public service. He is the embodiment of “speaking truth to power,” with dignity and results.

I'm lying in bed with Covid, having the time to take in this important converstaion between heroes of our time. Thank you to both of you. Thank you.
  • I personally would like to thank me Sean Penn, for all his efforts to bring to our attention about all terrible things/ places going on around the world for a very long time now, ie Haiti, Katerina, I think dafua , Ukraine etc. Thank you Sir.
  • SUGGESTION: Run this discussion presentation side by side with a presentation showing what had transpired concerning the "putting down" antics (for political reasons) of certain persons against the vaccine---and who, by name, the so-called anti-vacers actually had been.
  • So good to hear him still say the vaccine is 90% effective. I started to have my doubts. Thank you.

Mr Fauchi, the whole world owes you an enormous amount. Thank you for all you have done, seems so inadequate a response to you and your work and achievements. Because of you, millions of lives have been saved. Love and respect to you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

i saw reagan's surgeon general koop once in an interview where he talked about trying to get reagan's attention on doing something about aids. so after months of just being ignored he produced a brochure for every american home to alert the public about what was then known about the disease and he had it printed on the most expensive paper that was available at the government printing office. once reagan found out about it and that there was nothing he could do over what koop had done he gave the go ahead to mail the brochures.
  • I admire Dr. Fauci and the great actor Sean Penn, two intelligent lovely guys.

Testing: here in China, in the outbreaks in Xi'an and Shanghai, EVERYBODY was being tested again and again. They found that the asymptomatic/presymptomatics outnumbered the symptomatics 10x. In my city of Changsha I was tested every 48hr throughout 2022. They then abandoned testing on 6 Dec 2020 and within a couple of weeks 1.1b were infected including all our family despite masking and air filters.
