Our π˜Ύπ™§π™šπ™–π™©π™š & π™„π™£π™£π™€π™«π™–π™©π™š youth social action programme in Southampton involves young people leading on creative campaigns, addressing healthcare disparities and period taboo through creative mediums such as verbatim theatre, art, storytelling, poetry & music.

Our programme aims to promote accessible healthcare, normalise conversations, and create a fairer society for future generations through youth-led video campaigns which will eventually be shared with local stakeholders & decision makers.

Young people in this session explored cultural perspectives on period taboo and body image across various religions, sharing different beliefs within their cultures to deepen our understanding of female reproductive health.

During our creative programme we worked closely with young leaders from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring cultural sensitivity to avoid stereotypes and misrepresentations that can be harmful or offensive.

Thank you to all the incredible young people who took part in this workshop, we really appreciate your openness to explore complex conversations around period taboo and how we can improve cultural sensitivity within healthcare and education for future generations.
