X files could have easily wrote and shot that episode in three months. I grew up in Burbank, CA in the 90s and my dad was a writer on a ton of shows and movies. He wrote a few episodes of xfiles and I actually got to go on set a couple times. They busted out those episodes faster than anyone would ever believe.

Anyone with arthritis or a bone injury can tell you exactly how radically pressure changes things: Even those slight variations in air pressure can be the difference between feeling fine and excruciating pain.

10/10 would buy that shirt! "Pressure changes everything" isn't only true in science matters, but in life/personal ones. You never know what you are capable of until the pressure is on.

As a diver, I always thought it was interesting how at pressure nitrogen dissolves into the blood which of course requires slow ascent to avoid bubbles forming in the body if the pressure is changed too quickly(leading to either the bends or nitrogen narcosis). The higher pressure can also cause oxygen toxicity. The effects of changes in pressure on the body are a very interesting topic.

Joe if you're into 'pressure' stuff, would you consider doing a video on the phenomenon of people with painful joints experiencing much worse pain in wet weather? It's theorized to be about the lower pressure but it seems like the last time I looked into it (many years ago) there was still no conclusion about it. All I know is, my knees, hips, neck ....and even this one upper molar that usually doesn't bug me at all .....HURT LIKE THE DEVIL when it rains. And it's even worse if it's also cold out.

As a person with a Csf leak I can attest pressure is everything. Higher altitudes I tend to feel good, closer to sea lever 🤢 Flying is great when I’m up in the air… coming down is pure hell

The fact that weird events like The Toxic Lady story happened I think is a testament to just how many people there are ok they planet. We don’t often think about this fact that these weird hyper rare things that sound impossible are actually a probe of the population size and how we can’t wrap our heads around numbers that large. 8 billion, when numbers get that large impossibly rate things become inevitable if not common.

Totally- I always think about how much everyday life changed after the invention of refrigeration/air conditioning. Being able to store food for much longer and control the climate indoors is underrated in my opinion. And it's all thanks to pressure changes.

IIRC, most tv shows back then wrapped their filming season in March and the eps were done airing in May. Thats's a 2 month window for post production, sO its possible that it was based on the Toxic Lady. US tv show filming is completed in about a week, so that still leaves 2-3 weeks for script development. It's tight but doable.
