SWAT Raids are Out of Control

2024-07-15に共有
Imagine a SWAT team raids a house—battering doors, breaking windows, and coating everything inside with tear gas residue. Now imagine the SWAT team had the wrong address. Who do think would pay for the damage? If you said insurance, you’re probably wrong. If you said the city, you’re probably also wrong.

Today, IJ attorneys Jeff Redfern and Dylan Moore talk with us about this nightmare situation facing homeowners across America – and how the Institute for Justice is fighting to change it.

  • They will ruin everything you’ve worked for and walk off and go to sleep at night like nothing happened.
  • This is what happens when you militarize the Police.
  • I'm convinced it will be better if you dont call the cops to come anywhere for any reason
  • Causing $60k of damage and refusing to pay for it is how you get a killdozer in your lobby
  • Geeze. The city of McKinney must've spent more money litigating than just compensating the homeowner.
  • The fact that insurance companies are refusing to cover acts of government authority proves that such acts are far more common than anyone is willing to admit.
  • The unfortunate moral of the story is, do not be a good Samaritan and definitely do not call the police, EVER! The police WILL ruin your life if given the opportunity.
  • Unfortunately the lesson learned here is do not call the cops if a fugitive is at your house.
  • The sad part is it’s happening more and more not just swat, but police raids. It’s like half of them don’t even double check or use detective skills to make sure there where they’re supposed to be. It’s sad to see people who just don’t know their job anymore.
  • Thanks for the shout out guys! I'll keep telling people about the great work done by the IJ!
  • Radley Balko wrote a book called Rise of the Warrior Cop, he also talks about the overzealous SWAT raids. Continued success IJ.
  • The law needs to operate under the common sense principle of “You break it, you bought it”.
  • What tha….how much more corrupt can our country be? My goodness!
  • Curious how much the city spent in legal fees to avoid paying this lady $60,000?
