What Happens When You Use Ogerpon Against Kieran in The Indigo Disk (Pokémon Scarlet & Violet)

Apparently his AI has increased chances to target Ogrepon if you bring her too. When she’s not in the field, he spreads his attacks out normally. But he focuses her down when she’s on the field. It’s p interesting

Player: summons Ogerpon Carmine: OMG Adorable Kieran: OH HELL NAH.

For Kieran, this battle shattered his entire world. Everything he'd built up for the Ogre was stolen from him BY YOU. Then after that, he worked tirelessly and became the champion at his school. Then you once more came along and stole that too. You took his friends, his sister, his idol, his worldviews, and even his personality, in a way. This was the day Kieran was at his lowest. For the player, it was a Tuesday.

My guy is “this” close to having an emotional breakdown, I swear.

Carmine: "oh hey!" Kieran: "YOU IS A MOTHERFUCKER YOU KNOW THAT"

I expected Kieran to be upset about losing but i didn't expect him to have a PANIC ATTACK

Interesting how Kieran doesn't call her Ogerpon any more, only "the ogre". He's still chasing after the idea of the ogre, and not the actual living being.

My guy really expected me to not bring Ogerpon everywhere after what she went through.

Kieran: I'm going to faint the next pokemon you send out I swear to god. Player: Brings out Ogerpon

I really like Kieran, he had the most interesting character development of any rival. Going from weak upstart to conquering his school with the intent of defeating you. Sure he got humiliated to the point of probably needing therapy, but wow, I can’t remember a rival with that much intensity and desire to dethrone the player character. It was also an interesting take to be the rival who is being chased after rather than the other way around.

I brought Ogerpon in my playthrough completely unaware about the special dialogues, and got surprised by Carmime's reaction. And knew I had to do the same with Kieran, and I don't have any morsel of remorse.

I did this to Kieran when I fought him knowing he’d react, and BOY did he react.

Carmine: awwwww remember me little girl Kieran: are you fucking kidding me

I was truly hoping they'd do something like this. They did not disappoint.

I made a horrible mistake by accident. I brought both my Zoroark and Ogerpon into the fight. Let’s say Kieran didn’t have a fun time seeing two Ogerpons (No special dialogue, but imagine the mental anguish)

Imagine Ogerpon for a sec: You're exploring this new shiny place under the sea with your new companion. All of a sudden, you two run into a familiar face from your old home in Kitakami - Carmine, the girl who helped you get your masks back! She's so happy to see you and even happier to battle with you again! You and your companion learn that her brother is here, too. You're excited to see him again. After all, he got the village to not be scared of you anymore! After exploring more of this shiny place and meeting more people like your companion, you two are finally going to battle your friend Kieran. You're called out of your Poké Ball. Why does Kieran look so different? Why is he looking at you like that? Why are his eyes so cold? Then he says this. Then he zeroes in on you. What must have gone through that poor Pokémon's mind?

Now THIS is a rival. Game freak did amazing in this part can’t wait for what they have next

Am I the only one who imagines Kieran’s voice being like Akechi due to how mad he is?

I was planning to use Ogerpon anyway but I never thought that GameFreak would actually do this! Definitely using the cute little ogre girl now.

I like the difference in responses. Carmine is happy to see ogerpon again meanwhile Kieran gets enraged.
