SEGA CANCELED this console in 1995, so I made one TODAY | SEGA Neptune

Hey everyone! One thing I failed to mention in the video was that the “modular” Neptune build that I did was largely developed by PCBAssembly99. He pioneered the use of a 3BP in conjunction with the Neptune mod and also the unique method of flipping over the 32X board while using the longer ribbon cables so that it can be used with the 90 degree cartridge connector. Making the Sega Saturn backwards compatible with Genesis, Sega CD and 32X games should’ve been a no-brainer, especially when for years I thought the cartridge slot on top of the console was for inserting Genesis and 32X games.

You guys should get together and make a combo Genesis, CD, 32X all-in-one. That'd be so sick.

Great build. One small tip......When applying waterslide decals, always apply to a gloss surface, then clear coat back to matte. You will avoid that weird silvering look from the decal film AND the clear coat will protect the decals from being scratched off. Or use rub transfers.

So glad to see this mod is getting more attention. It’s not exactly cheap, but its definitely really impressive. What would be epic is to see somebody like RetroGameRestore injection mould these and sell it as a mod kit. And or use this design to create an FPGA clone console like the Mega SG but with 32X support.

I've had 0 interest in the neptune mod with it in a standard shell.. but now that there's a neptune shell. The project is actually interesting again! Very cool

Tito, you just apply a little molykote grease around the edges of the button. If the button has tight tolerances to it's surround, a little grease will prevent the edges grounding into each other. Nice video, great work as ever. I love that this exists. Cool console.

We had the CDX (MD/CD), successfully recreated the Neptune (MD/32X), now it’s hopefully only a matter of time until the ultimate Sega Genesis is created: A MD/CD/32X all-in-one!!!

Its so crazy that even a decade ago, if you told me that you could build your very own Sega Neptune, i would think youre crazy.

I can’t help but wonder how much further the Genesis hardware can be pushed as we learn more about it. I’d really love to see if you could mod this with HDMI out, and it’d also be cool to see what the whole package looks like with the Sega CD as well.

Been a sub for some time now and I just wanna say how much I love your format. The build process, the pros and cons..and on top of that, you seem to make a video EVERY WEEK?! Keep up the hard work Tito!!

Ooooooh. Now we’re DEFINITELY at the NEXTLEVEL. This feels like playing against the rules of what we could do, even if your channel has done this many times in the past. I kinda want to do this for historical purposes 😅. Awesome Job Tito!

I'm not going to lie. Your tutorial is the best one I've seen. I have actually destroyed 4 model 2 Sega Genesis and 32X trying to make this over the years. This has given me hope that I can create one for myself. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful. As a Sega fan, this takes the cake of all Sega mods. Kudos to EVERYONE for making this a reality!
