  • The sax is so unexpected, I've never noticed even a simulated sax in a Zelda score. It's especially interesting because it's intermixed with several musical call backs. It uses the motifs from the original Zelda theme. The reversed chorus harkens to Twilight Princess and draws from Ganondorf's theme and Midna's Lament. It uses BotW's main theme in addition to following very similar progression and structure to BotW's final trailer before release.(Which I can't blame them for, it's one of the greatest trailers of all time.) I can't recognize any melodies specific to Skyward Sword and I lack the musical acumen to express why but I find the style very reminiscent of that game's more sweeping orchestra tracks with their less defined melodies.

Superb combination of erhu and saxophone what an epic score. Nintendo music never dissapoints

It’s crazy, I thought it were woodwinds at the start to but it’s the alto sax played really smoothly and soft making it sound clarinet like. I think this a fckn masterpiece. Legend of Zelda NEVER used a sax in its themes, and now they did it just blew my mind.. 💯
  • 3:46 love those slight first 3 notes in Zelda’s Lullaby it appears in almost every trailer released so far. Zelda’s Lullaby - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EPhfbtjqWM8 E3 Teaser (2021) - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi-MRZBP91I&t=67s Trailer 2 (2023) - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fYZuiFDQwQw&t=126s It seems they’re re-using music from each trailer but nevertheless they intentionally put it in there. Heck they even put it in the Prologue on a Minor Key. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b8YCjG6SQ1A&t=32s (Spoilers for the Game’s music for its Prologue)

The saxophone put it over the top……loved it👍
  • @ArcaneAnthems
I’ve never heard an oud and a sax together before haha it’s AMAZING

Sorry for the audio mix and the trailer being so quiet in this one! This was live on twitch and sometimes when streaming, levels get a bit thrown off by needing to adjust on the fly:)
  • I love the track for the Tears of the Kingdom trailer, especially the transition at the part in the video just before they show Link pulling the wagon.
  • @Eteric
I like to imagine the sax guy was wearing sunglasses and no shirt and just went all in on it.
  • @its_eli
When the saxophone comes in, it reminded me of anime 😊🎶

You should totally check out Risk of Rain 2's OST and the music made for it's DLC (Survivors of the Void) when you get the chance, it makes you feel like you're truly on another planet. Love the videos and I definitely need to catch a stream sometime soon!
  • @Selkie15
This is my favourite reaction because it's not a "I HAVE TO LOSE MY SHIT BECAUSE BEING OVER THE TOP MEANS MORE VIEWS" video. It's just an honest, thoughtful, genuine reaction with the occasional informative snippet, but it's obvious it's still hitting you.

Omg I just discovered your channel (first off, love your commentary) but I found this video because I love Zelda and FromSoftware music BUT THEN I SPOT THE HADESTOWN POSTER IN THE BACKGROUND!!! I know that silhouette of Reeve and Eva all too well! The Legend of Zelda games and Hadestown are literally my two favorite works of art. I've seen the show 19 times (I know, I'm obsessed). Love finding another fan in a Zelda music reaction video of all places lol, I doubt those audiences have much crossover!
  • For those wondering what kind of sax that is, it's a tenor sax. As someone who played alto sax for a while, and with some input from other comments, it's determined to be that.
  • @ChuckS117
Came for the "Wicked" stayed for the great reaction.
  • @callindykid
Have you heard the soundtrack to the Ori series or played those games? Gareth Coker's compositions are some of my favorite video game songs of all time. I'd highly recommend these from "Ori and the Will of the Wisps" (the second game in the series, "Ori and the Blind Forest" is the first game): - Mora the Spider - Shriek & Ori - Remaining in Darkness -> A Stirring of Memories -> Ori, Embracing the Light (3 songs that string together to form the soundtrack for a cutscene)
  • @lurmirari
i love that they made sax the kind of trademark instrument for botw, also, looking back now, it's amazing the amount of spoilers they included in the trailer
  • @reen816
At the beggining of the trailer it's a saxophone but in the middle of the song they used a famous Chinesse instrument called Souna (i think) it's sounds so similar
  • If you're not already familiar with it you might want to react to "Nerevar Rising" from the OST of the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Btw do you only react to like original pieces composed for fantasy/sci fi games?
  • @ShaunRF
I've seen a number of people claim that isn't a saxophone, but a suona. Others, who claim to be sax players, insist it is an alto sax. I don't know enough to say either way, but there is quite the debate unfolding in the comment section of this trailer lol.
