It wasn't yet hay season when this was filmed - but a guy had a little test bed area, where I was seeing how old equipment worked, and what needed fixed. So in this video let's try out this 8N we just got running and a New Holland 55 Rolla-bar Hay rake!

  • Two vice grip shows in a week I can’t believe it, but I guess I got to because I’m sitting here watching it
  • Any videos from the "farm" fields with old tractors and equipment is a big hit in my book!

Future video suggestions. Making bales-YES Mowing around the pond-YES cleaning the pond-YES I will literally watch all of that, just need a cold drink. Thanks for the episode, and take car!
  • Every time you ask if we wanna see something. I just think YES. I'm pretty sure we all would just watch any content you want to make. It's all enjoyable no matter what you decide to do.

Derek, the answer to "If you guys want to watch..." is always "yes".

I know you always said you were a farmer but the way you kicked the 3 point off that brush hog let me know we were the same person 😂

I appreciate Derek's efforts to demonstrate rural life, keeping land in production, and America's heritage of self reliance. It's all great to see here.
  • Nothing more satisfying than watching old equipment work out in the field. Thanks for sharing this with us!
  • I'd love to watch the pond clear up and what lives in it. Man a fella needs a tractor, thanks for sharing Derek I learn on new stuff every episode.

Hey Derek and Jessica, i really enjoy your channel, you bring a variety of things that most others don't. Seeing you cutting and raking, brought back memories of my paw-paw, i was cutting, raking and baling hay since i was 8yrs old, i started with the square bales, then the round bales, i'm 47yrs old, my grandpa was and will always be my paw-paw, he's gone now, but will live on in my heart.

I have never missed my birth home more than watching Derek around the farm. I keep hearing my own Dad's wisdom in his voice, and I keep seeing my Dad's productivity in his output...

This channel is becoming more important to me than VGG. Reminds me so much of home back in the day. I remember being in the seat of the draw bar mower for hours with dad pulling with the old JD. Even pulling the manure spreader with the horses. Brings tears of joyful memories! Thank you Derek for everything. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
  • I am really anticipating the fuel tank installation video. This is really fun seeing the place come together on VG Lodge!

Derek, you dun did it to me!! I used to want an old Ford tractor, had a little land in Wisconsin, then last year moved back to Michigan into my wife’s childhood home. On a quarter acre. Now I want a tractor again!! Good job, would love to see more! God bless you all!😂
  • @therealaretelio
A guy would absotively, without a doubt watch you do more farm stuff. Seeing these old machines doing work is fantastic.
  • @chooven
Pond cleanup and fuel tank install sound like a couple good videos. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, very entertain to watch for people stuck in the 9 to 5 office life.
  • Yeah, I’d like to see how you put all that fuel tanks together and stuff would be awesome. Enjoy watching your channel as well. Keep up the good work.

There are still a lot of 8N Fords on the job. A true classic.

Look how easily that old Ford tractor started. The mystery of equipment built in the past is so amazing. Dependability is everything when your miles out in a field on a tractor. Thanks Derek for interesting content that a guy wants to see.
