When asking The Emperor if you could control the Netherstones if you became illithid, Gale will cut in asking to speak privately about the situation.

Man. That heavy pause and the way he visibly deflates before bringing up the orb. You can tell that was the last thing Gale wanted to say.

"You can't sacrifice yourself if I sacrifice myself first." Gale this is not the way to go about things 😅
  • I find it so funny and sweet that gale is one of the only romance options that don't care if you transform. If you become illithid, everything continues between you like it's a minor bump on the road. While most everyone else has to be convinced to stay with you.

Hes also the only romance companion thst fully accepts your illithid form at the end game. You get the same dialogue about moving to waterdeep and taking his name. Everyone else has some sort of negative/ connotations. Even wyll, who basically says "ill still love you but not publicly. you gotta lock yourself up somewhere secret. Ill visit you though."Like thats pathetic. Gale is just straight up aight behbeh lets head to my home town and get hitched, show me what dem tentacles do lol

"-swords, spells and sweat" Lol I do love his use of alliteration.

My poor boi Gale, always tries to please everyone by sacrificing himself, little does he know, that I'd rather see Faerun burn to ashes, then my princess to die 🌟

i love him, he's my little fantasy hozier.

that little sad sigh alone makes me want to burn the world for him 😭

"Hey, you didn't let me blow myself up earlier, I'm not letting you do that now."

There needs to be an option to just tell the Emperor and Orpheus to get their shit together and then blaze through the brain in a glorious fight. It can be hard but I would love the option because it's exactly what my Tav would want to do: fight on her own terms, fully believing that together they can win and that any other conflicts can be solved later.

You dont have to romance him for this conversation. I got the exact same one in my playthrough where I didnt romance him

This happens if you just have high approval too. I maxed out our approval but never did anyromantic scenes with him (I romanced Karlach) and had this same conversation. I love this scene it's very well done.
  • Honestly, bought this game for Astarion, stayed for Gale, can't romance anyone else, he truly is the sweetest.

“Nonono, see, I’M the kamikaze guy here. Get another role in the party, I got to it first!”
  • @65firered
He's come some way from "Mystra is great!".

Omg this is the the third time I've heard someone say "I want to live" (or something very close to it) in the game and it makes me emotional because it makes me think of the song by the same name off of the OST. So far I've heard Karlach say it in her final cutscenes as she's burning up, the narrator says something similar in reference to Tav having the right to live as an illithid after all you've done, and now Gale 😭 That song fits so well with the party it makes me so emotional listening to it

He’s really the absolute sweetest despite starting off as a cocky little nerd who’s not over his ex 😭
  • @yurabbityu
Wish it went... Tav: "You'd sacrifice yourself for us?" Gale: "Not for them...for you. Ok maybe and a bit of Astarion, that git has also grown with me. Kidding aside, I would rather sacrifice myself than you sacrifice yours." This man gives me more and more reason to love him. 💕❤

1:27 is practically a title drop with how prevalent that song is throughout the game. Which makes it so tragic that after romanticizing his own death for half the game, he finally admits it only when offering to die.
