Improv solo to "The Thrill is Gone"

Published 2020-07-13
Ok, during my recent isolationship I made a backing track based on the chord progression from The Thrill is Gone. Chords are Bm Em Gmaj7 F#7. Moving from chords Gmaj7 toF#7 I used the G major scale to the phyrigian dominant I have been experimenting with (f# g a# b c# d e f#), and I got some really great sounds from it. Let me know what you think.

Nice job Eric. I like the note choices and then you add in the bends. Very much a jazz/blues mixed solo. Great looking ax too, bet it's a dream to play. 🎵
  • I play drums, bass, electric & acoustic guitar, keyboards, harmonica and mandolin, and am a lead singer in a Southern Rock Band. Nice guitar...
