do not hang the caliper with its own horse....you may damage the hose and its deadly.......hang the caliper with a cord.

Before you fit the new rotor you should of cleaned it with brake cleaner to get all oil off Which the manufacturer put on to stop it from rusting during storage.

Thank you for putting in so much time for this vid. This helps tremendously!
  • I don't like the way you suspend the brake caliper on the tube. the brake caliper must be suspended with a wire on the spring, or another part of the body.
  • Do you happen to have the part number for that dealer only part?

the lower sliders/guide pins were completely rusted solid into the calipers on mine so looks like I'm gonna need 2 new calipers, great!

Unfortunately what I was looking for was tips on how to remove the parking brake. This did however help me in assembling them after the bearing replacement but yeah those damn ears on the front just get in the way when trying to put in those spring clips.
  • Damn, you need to support that caliper. Tie it to the struts or something. Don't care if it's "light weight" aluminum, it's at least a solid 5 lbs.
  • Great video, A pair of Sealey VS035 Brake Shoe Spring Pliers, 375mm x 98mm x 22mm...Would be helpful...Cheap & the proper tool..

My passenger rear spring broke off while I was doing my rotors so I completely removed the shoe brake on the pass side. Iโ€™m a little intimidated but these shoe brakes. Im going to use this video as a reference when the spring kit comes in. Will I be okay driving around for now?

I canโ€™t even move the caliper that well, lower guide pin might be fused to the whole that slides over it on the caliper. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ my friend says just take a torch and it get off but I donโ€™t wanna risk it
