IS CARNIVAL FORCING EVERYONE TO GET A PASSPORT.
Headline gets people angry at cruise ships but turns out not to be about a cruise ship. Icon of the seas is sailing at 132% capacity. Carnival says no to passport claim on social media.

  • Passports should be a requirement. Cannot fathom being stuck in one country without a passport; perplexing how individuals can live that way.
  • @amandagreen4332
It’s ridiculous that people are afraid of passport tracking when their phones are tracking them everywhere!
  • @jaypurvis7191
Strongly support passports for everyone traveling via Ship/plane
  • @dwayne7356
It is foolish not to do international travel with a passport. What if you get off the ship for a medical emergency or miss the ship altogether. As you stated, you will have a hard time getting home.
  • @charms87
Every person should have a passport! It is irresponsible to travel without one.
  • Tony did mention you'd be meeting at Heathrow for a cruise tomorrow. Enjoy!
  • @jeffmays3159
I can’t believe in this day and age people leave the country without one. Get a passport!!!
  • Because they are cheap. They complain passports for a family of four costs too much money. Prob these same ppl don't get medical ins, trip delay cancellation, cancel for any reason, etc. then when something goes wrong, they complain on forums.

Passports should be required to cruise. End the confusion already.

The passport is the best investment you can have if you are traveling. It is worth it to have one.

It isn't any cruise line which is forcing travelers to carry passports, it is the sovereign government of those countries, who get to control who may visit their country. It's their right.
  • NCL sent an email regarding Passports and how it is beneficial to have one in port. So it's not only Carnival.
  • A passport costs in the USA $145.00, I have not idea why people don’t want to get a passport, so much easier to travel with one?
  • We always travel with our passports, even domestic flights. They are easier to hold onto and less likely to be lost than a drivers license when you’re juggling bags and other things. Much less likely to get dropped and make a loud sound if you did.

So easy to renew my passport- sent it out express mail and standard return- came back in 2.5 weeks and my old one came back punched out, 1 week later. I had another 5 months left but it gets busy around the holiday season.
  • I finally got my passport just so I could take my first cruise. It just makes sense.
  • It's the same group of people that refuse to register to vote... They don't want to "be on a list."
