As the world moves towards a downsized and eventually non-combusting era, we must bid farewell to one of our favourite cars and, unfortunately, the V12 Vantage is one of them.

Why are we fans of the V12 Vantage? Because of the sheer audacity, that’s why. Who else would be bold enough to pack a behemoth of an engine into a car of this size and get away with it? Whether that weight and size impact the handling of the car is to be determined by Henry Catchpole in this review, but if its predecessor is any indication, the sound alone would make it worthwhile.

Here are the headline specifications:
• 5.2L Twin Turbo V12
• 700PS (690HP), 753Nm
• ZF 8-Speed automatic
• 0-60mph in 3.4s
• 200mph top speed
• Rear-wheel-drive only
• Limited to 333 units
• The last V12 Vantage
• Unique bodywork
• Spoiler is optional
• 21-inch alloy wheels
• Michelin Pilot Sport 4S road tyres
• 1mm thin steel exhaust system (saves 7kg)
• 1795kg total weight
• 40mm wider tracks than the V8 Vantage
• Carbon bucket seats that are 7.3kg lighter than standard seats

I can confirm Mr Catchpole really does go running with the headlight torch on. At a press event I was in my hotel room and this weird lanky spectre flashed past my window - it was him.
  • Henry Catchpole is really the greatest automotive journalist. His storytelling abilities are unmatched in this space. Great Car!
  • @JonnySantoroRS
Let’s bring Carfection beyond 1M!! Those guys absolutely deserve it! 🤙🏻❤️
  • @ReconVette19D
I hate when they only make a few hundred of any car, then we know most of them will sit in show rooms. Either way, Im happy to see a new v12 car, although I'd still rather find a classic stick shift one!
  • Catchpole on Carfection has become the new Chris Harris on Cars! Loving it.
  • This is not a car review, it is a short film. I admire your tone. No flashy excitement but real emotional expression. Kudos & keep on with your presentation style.
  • @pab3783
I find myself enjoying Catchpole's metaphorical analysis more than Harris's clever enthusiasm.
  • So glad companies are making cars like this. A crazy, fun car with a V12 and NOT electric!
  • @cdbtheclaw
I actually still really like the interior of the Vantage. It came from the time we're you had all the digital shenanigans but also buttons for everything and didn't need to fiddle through hundreds of touchscreen menus but after learning the car you can blindly find and press what you want.

This video is just Aston-ishing ! As always with Henry, the quality and story-telling are incredible.
  • I am proud to say my brother has already booked Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Coming in the later part of 2022. So excited for him.👍
  • @gibreel461
Passed you on the M5 whilst you were driving this, you had a big ol' smile on your face. Says it all really.
  • @armando_alves
Carfection is on a whole nother level when it comes to cinematography and storytelling. Simply in awe with this film.
  • @R8andGT3Fan
The legendary sound of the starter motor on V12 Astons...sounds as good as the engine itself! 😍 Loved the review, as always! You will be hitting 1M pretty soon!

Takes me back to the previous generation V12 Vantage and the film Top Gear did on it then. They ended in a similar fashion denoting that as the last V12 Vantage, and time proved them wrong, but somehow, sadly I feel you're right this time. At least the V12 Vantage existed, at least for some time.

Henry sets the standards when it comes to car reviews, amazing job 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • @dccather
Henry C is the daddy of all YouTube car reviewers. Glorious drone footage over the superb backdrop of Exmoor. I recently followed a very well driven DBS V12 from Minehead to Lynmouth on my 1250 GSA. Great fun without venturing too far into licence losing territory!
  • @mpfourfour
Very reminiscent of Clarkson’s tribute to the old V12 NA Vantage!
  • @andycombo
It’s not only a review, it’s the explanation of a way of life. Holy crap, we are officially the old school guys. Keep going Catchpole, we are witnesses of the end of an era.
