Rattle snakes can only strike about half their body length. For example, a 6’ snake can strike about 3’. No rattle snake is much longer than 6’. Therefore, as long as you stay at least 5’ away, you’re safe. Also, they’re not pursuit predators. Just leave them alone, and they’ll leave you alone.:)
