Al Pacino won his first Best Actor Oscar® for his brilliant portrayal of an overbearing, blind retired Lieutenant Colonel who hires a young guardian (Chris O'Donnell), to assist him. "You've gotten yourself so caught up in the sugar business you've forgotten the taste of real honey" what a line!!

I hope people in 100 years from now will still admire this genius of an actor like Al Pacino. U ha u haa.
  • @khabbad
“Maybe God thinks some people don’t deserve to see” That’s the line that got him. Went to his soul, he could barely say hoohaaaa. Great acting
  • Randy: Verbally abuses and insults Frank Frank: Hoo-ah Also Randy: Calls Charlie "Chuckie" Frank: And I took that personally

" You gotta go down on her " He pulled out a straight flush right there

You can tell that when Charles starts to stand up for Frank that that’s the turning point in their relationship. Where Frank learns that Charles is more than a caretaker but really his Friend, practically his only friend. You can see it all on Al Pacino’s face, because he’s such an incredible actor

Al Pacino was so great in this movie, he really deserved his Oscar for it.

One thing I love about this scene is Franks older brother, while their relationship is strained, Frank’s brother still stands up for him. Always a tear jerker moment, and an accurate reflection of how brothers are.

Take note: Frank suffers all the abuse that Randy hurls at him, and even agrees with him. Frank only attacks Randy when he disrespects Charlie. Charlie didn't do anything to deserve it, and never does anything in the movie to deserve bad treatment (such as being expelled), while almost everything Frank does up until the final speech scene is worthy of criticism. This scene is a microcosm of the whole movie. Absolutely brilliant
  • "Goodbye willie.....I'm no fuckin good...and I never have been" that line hits me hard

I admire the fact that Frank didn’t mind being personally insulted but couldn’t stomach Charles being treated disrespectfully.

The moment Charles intervenes "hey wait a minute, just take it easy" is so powerful and heart breaking

Al Pacino was PHENOMINAL in this movie, and the Oscar was well deserved.
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little look/smirk that Frank does at 2:28 He’s surprised that Charlie (not Chuckie) has had enough and is brave enough to try and stand up for the Colonel. Just a little golden nugget in a gold vault of a movie.

I like how in control Frank is during the entire time he choke-holds Randy. Most people would scream and cuss in rage when they are angry but Frank literally has Randy's life in his hands and he's being very calm and rational about it.
