Why would you buy a 15 year old Lexus and have it serviced at a dealer? If you looked for a decent local repair shop and sourced some of the parts from Rock Auto or parts stores you would have paid a fraction of the money you did đ€Šââïž

Proud Lexus owner here! and I can say that nothing beats the quality build and long term performance of my 2005 ES330!!! Amazing

I have a 2012 Lexus AWD. I change the oil twice per year. The car did burn oil, but after the sooner than later oil changes she burns no oil. I also down shift rather than stomping on the gas peddle. She is Obsidian in color, and the V8 is wonderful at 199,500 miles. The Lexus is also loaded with options. My cost was $13,000 to purchase, one previous owner, the car is wonderful. I spent 4 months driving my motorcycle, rain or sun, to find this car.

I canât tell you how much I appreciate this video. I currently own a 2007 Lexus LS460 with 138,000 miles on it. I also own a 2008 LS600 with 78,000 miles on it. Both cars are one owners given to me and my wife from my late mother-in-law so they hold sentimental value. The 2007 LS460 needs a lot of work and I canât see myself selling it. While others may not appreciate the expenses youâve incurred with this vehicle, I do. Thank you again for this video.

I bought a 07 SWB $10k back at 2018 with 160k mile, had changed/fixed control arm, high pressure fuel leak, radiator and coilover. All cost around $6K, the car still running strong with 200K miles.

From this video, I learned 3 things 1- I must buy the short wheel base LS460. 2- I must buy the most basic one with no air suspension or any fancy features on them. 3- YOU ARE A VERY RICH MAN !!!!

LS460L 2007 Iâve owned this daily driver for around 7 years and havenât had a single not a single breakdown. All regular maintenance done on time and still going strong. Sorry to hear about ur experience

Thanks for taking the time and detailing your expenses for the ls460l. Itâs clear that youâre proud and satisfied with the vehicle and it looks amazing inside and out. Congrats and youâre not alone in wanting your vehicle repaired and functioning the way it should. Great video and yes, I think it was worth it.

I was in similar position as you few years ago. I bought used LS with 130k strictly for commuting in Bay Area for work. I bought OEM parts on electrical parts but high quality aftermarket on suspension/brakes. Changed oil every 3k and was religious about my car fluid services. My hack was I found a Toyota dealer with a Toyota master tech who did all my work. Save me thousands using Toyota labor rate vs Lexus dealer labor rates. Car gave me another 150k of life before I traded it in.

The grey interior with the smoke wood grain is the best combination imo

Thank you for going the extra mile and keeping everything original. Having that peace of mind is worth every penny

These costly repairs are the main reason that I have a 08 ES 350. It's better on fuel, maintenance, insurance, taxes, and more of a city daily driver. This is a great video on how some people have money for automobile expenses. Get 200 to 400k in assets, and expenses like this are always minor.

We all love our LSâs. Youâve preserve yours the way you wanted. Itâs like raising a kidâŠno one can tell you different. Nice car brother. Bought my 09 for 12K with 115K odometer, 5 years later she has 165K. Replaced leaking valve cover gaskets at dealer$$$$. Everything else seems to operate well. Hint; when your cam phasers start to chatter after idling down on a cold start and they just more chattery with mileage, change the oil every 5K. My cams are quiet now once I changed oil on new lower mileage intervals.

Thank you this! Recently acquired an LS600 and going through this process as well. Hope you are enjoying it!

Really appreciate this video. really appreciate your demeanor and take on it all. Yeah I thought some of it was excessive too but reading in the comments and with what you said at the end of the video comparing this to buying a entry level new Camry makes perfect sense. You got a FAR BETTER vehicle for the money. Long live your Lexus my friend, I'm sticking it out with you with my 2008 LS 460. Some people have little to no issues, some people have a lot. What's important is that you get it done right and that you enjoy your vehicle. This is a fantastic car and I am sure you will get many many miles and good experiences out of it as time progresses. You could've thrown a fit and thrown in the towel but you stuck it out like a G and the end game is excellence. Respect. Lexus - Experience Amazing. That is on my car tag plateholder and it rings true every time I drive this beast of a land yacht đ

Great Video, but some of the big expenses were cosmetic and unnecessary in my opinion. Granted, having this car to its original glory is a must. These are great cars, I have a 2007 LS460 with 289K and it still running strong.
-
Holy Moly! Expensive is an understatement! I really wanted an 08 460 but couldn't afford it at the time. Ended up getting a 08 IS 250 instead. The car costed me 4900$ and I've roughly spent about 1800$ in maintenance in the last 2.5 years that I've owned it. Considering that your car and mine were released only a year apart, the maintenance costs are mind boggling to me! đČ

I have a 2008 lexus ls 460 changed control arms installed the custom tesla style radio. Car looks better inside than the 2013 to 2017 model. I have 245k and drove from chicago to new York with no problems.
-
Great video. Well worth it. How many miles on it when you bought it and where did you buy it? I just missed a 2006 Lexus LS430 with 38,000 miles for 10k. I still want one but worry about dumping too much money into it.

The early years of the fourth generation LS wasn't good in terms of Lexus-reliability. The "facelift" generations (2013-2017) were MUCH better. But for the sake of argument, IF I could buy a new LS, it would be the last year LS400. That car has proven to be unbeatable.
