As I'm approaching the intersection in the right turn only lane, a driver of red Toyota Maine license plate 8474 MQ cuts across my path with a right hook from the straight/left turn lane. As we both need to wait at the next light in a left turn only lane, I thought it might be a good chance for discussion/education. However on seeing/hearing the driver's obvious rage I decide the odds of a productive conversation are low and back away for safety.

(note: in the video I say the plate ends in "MO" but on examining the video later I realize it is "MQ" with the Q slightly obstructed by registration stickers. Vehicle plate search confirms it is "Q")

Holy cow. Is that staged? How does someone that batshit pass a road test?

Imagine catching up to a bad driver and realizing they’ve actually been possessed by a demon

Actually all I saw were teeth moving around viciously inside that car. Stuff of nightmares.

She was pissed off because she could not beat the traffic lights, and you ended up next to her. Hopefully she realizes there is no point on driving like a maniac when you reach the same place at the same time with a bike.

    great, now I'm having nightmares

I've seen people (my own mother included) act like this as a way to intimidate others and get them to back down from conflict. They do it because they are afraid something may not go their way if it's pursued. It's often just an act.

0:50 She is clearly not fit to drive. Hope this one got reported.

I no longer engage with people in these situations anymore. I have come to the realization that many people are suffering from mental illnesses now and don’t seem to care about the consequences of their actions no matter how grave. And many also feel they bare no responsibility for their actions.

Was that her screaming that sounded line a wounded bird? Good call backing off, she seemed crazy unstable. Must have missed her morning dose of xanax.

Broom was in for repairs that day. Got to love how they almost kill you but you're in the wrong though.
  • That's why I too always have a camera when I am out cycling. It came in very handy when a driver intentionally hit me. I just wish I was there to see his face when the police showed up at his door. And, of course, he didn't bother showing up for court (where he lost by default).

Whoa. I’m not at all implying that her actions were justified, but based on her reaction it looked like she was having a realllly bad day. Good call backing up
