Ha-Seong Kim has recorded 10.9 WAR for the Padres so far. At this pace, he will have 12 wars in at least four years after this season ends. He contributed more to the Padres than he received. However, there is still no news of an extension contract for him. This is very sad.

Michael King and Dylan Cease are two very legitimate aces (or nearly) in an otherwise dicey Padres starting pitching corps. I have no idea if we'll see Yu Darvish. I have no idea if Joe Musgrove will return. Both of these men seem to me to be keeping injuries quiet, but I have no way to know. The Padres can't compete without more than two legitimate starting pitchers.
