While posting videos onto TikTok in her home in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, Gracie Scullion, 18, realised she could delay her voice so her mouth would move, but the words would come much later.

The "lagging" effect made Gracie's videos look as though they had been poorly dubbed, causing people to be equally impressed and confused by the viral videos. Gracie said: "To do it, I try to over exaggerate ‘mouthing’ the first word, but I won’t add my voice until my mouth is completely still and closed.
"It’s almost like ventriloquism, but the illusion of mouthing the word first, makes it unique.

Imagine you practice it too much, and one day you realize you can't talk without lagging

That's adorable. She discovered ventriloquism :) She's got a natural talent for it too.
  • This girl is just full of happy energy. She's not conceited or tries to show it off; she cares about us learning it and thinks it's so cool.

Imagine she does it in real life with you and you think the whole world server is lagging

I have the ability to delay my homework but teachers don't find that fascinating for some reason. 🤔🤔

I tried, alone in my apartment. I'm so glad nobody was there to watch.

It will be unnerving when you start to master an entire sentence.

She's so pretty. Totally the type of girl who would reject or ghost me
  • because of months of zoom meetings, when she does this on public, people will probably assume it's her wifi connection

She’s so proud of herself that you can’t help but be proud of her.

I knew a woman in Maine who hardly moved her jaw when she spoke. She kept her teeth in bite mode while she just moved her thin lips. It was rather odd having a conversation with her. I happen to love ventriloquism, so this clip is pretty interesting. Nice energy here, thank you for sharing! 😊
