Dimensional Doors is still, to this day, the fucking CREEPIEST mod ever made.

Current main developer of Dimensional Doors here. I just was made aware of your video. The segment of Dimensional Doors was nice and I like your style of animated character. I just wanted to clarify a few things that are different in the most recent versions. - Most doors can be placed directly on a rift as they all can have a dimensional door variant. - Gold doors no longer give you a dungeon. Its was debug way to test dungeons easier. The dungeon door is now a stone door. - We have a crafting block for a lot of items and block called the Tessellating Loom. There is a lot more planned and has been for years! Oh and here is probably the best part for pack creators. Almost EVERYTHING is datapackable. The functionality of doors, dungeons, and even limbo decay. Still need on guides for this stuff though.
  • the funny thing many dont realize is that the aether mod wasn't just big when mods themselves were almost completely unknown, the aether was actually advertised by people as if it was in minecraft loads of big content creators would make videos of how to get to the aether and never once mention anywhere at all that it was a mod, I remember as a kid I had to spend 5-10 minutes searching the internet to figure out the aether was a mod for the game.

I love how your character is just chilling in the water. It's a nice touch

dimensional doors was in the RAD modpack. I was always interested in the concept of dimensions existing side by side to ours, so while my friends cleared dungeons I wanted to learn anything about it. Like you said there is something about it that just pulls you in. RAD offered many other dimensions as well, it must have been well over a dozent. My mission was to visit every dimension, collect rare items from them and somehow link them in one place we called interdimensional railroad station. Together with thaumcraft I felt like some ancient scholar that broke down reality to its very core, trying to understand it. It was the best minecraft run I ever had and I remember the time with my friends fondly. I wish I could play it for the first time again.

Tropicraft is genuinely one of the most nostalgic mods for me. I always just remember it being so chill and calming

The classic YouTube thing of people with under 50k subscribers making the best videos.

For Dimensional Doors, I miss the original function of the Rift Blade. It let you charge to open a temporary rift anywhere in the world, leading to an isolated pocket at that position. It left a temporary rift at the position you entered, where the door would normally come out in a regular pocket. However, you didn't have to use that rift to come out. You could charge-open another rift with the Rift Blade, and it would send you out at the relative coordinates of that rift in your original dimension. This let you do things like come up to a wall, open a rift next to it, go inside, walk past the where the wall is in reality (Maybe pillaring up a little to match terrain) then open another rift inside that pocket to escape at your new relative coordinates, letting you walk past the wall without walking past it. It was like Miegakure: You come to an impassable obstacle, then utilize the 4th dimension to walk around that obstacle, and come back.

One that you missed that I absolutely LOVED was Mystcraft. It was basically like the RFTools Dimension builder, where you could create dimensions based off of different settings that you found in ruins. To this day, that's up there with Twilight Forest as one of my favorite dimension mods.

I honestly think all Minecraft YouTubers should be like this, no random voice volume rises, no yelling or screaming, no ultra fast paced, none of that 3rd Person crouching while talking. Just this calmness, the nice and constant animation, the way your guy looks. The way you edit and move stuff. The way the clips are meshed together. The way you speak, and the way you just have your little dude just being part of all the editing and being active and also being side by side doing stuff with Minecraft

I remember when everybody on Minecraftforum was talking about the Aether like it would inevitably added into the game. Shame it never made it in- I always loved the progression inherent to a portal made of glowstone.

Bro I Fucking LOVE the character animations and how it interacts with the enviorment and everything. The constant slight paper-like movement, the subtle limb movements, how do even have the budget for that at under 15k subs? And don't get me started on the subtitles.
  • @bootnad
I remember dimensional doors so well. It scared me so badly going to limbo. I didn't know how to escape and for a while, I would just make new worlds. They're creepy, unsettling and straight up fascinating
  • @hyperkun
I always loved Dimensional Doors Funnily enough the Lion King dimension mod is nostalgic to me, same for DivineRPG I love your editing so much, especially your character blended so well with the background and the iconic font (im curious what is it called), great video even though these are the biggest dimensional mods that probably most people know, Mystcraft is something I havent heard a lot of people talk about
  • @papabaddad
Dimensional doors has always been one of my absolute favorite mods. I never stopped being creeped out and stressed when i was exploring, but i kept going in for the loot
  • @fruitisushii
The dimensional doors mod was in the RAD modpack i played when i was a bit younger and i remember accidentally falling into the abyss or whatever and it creeped me out so much i quit playing only to return after gaining a fear of fractals and deleting the mod from the modpack
