Ulf made this beautiful bamboo rod for Anders and it seems that it works perfectly. Head over to www.bamboorods.se/ if you like to find out more about the rod maker.

There are many anglers who are obsessed with their gear. And many of them end up liking the tools more than the fishing itself. But in this video, I can feel the pride of a person who loves not only fishing but also the river itself and the time spent in nature before that. That's what tools are for, right? Thanks for the great video. From a tenkara guy in Japan.

50 years ago my first job was to work for a fishing shop. One of the many skills that I was taught was to make cane fly rods. Not from scratch like this video but using cane supplied to the shop I and my colleagues made some beautiful rods. Thanks for the memories. I still use one of those rods along with new carbon rods. Cheers from lockdown and waiting for the season to commence again.
  • Master rod-maker and master film-maker. All what I could add is more rod action when he was playing the fish.
  • One of the best fly fishing videos I've seen.  Great depiction of the spirituality one can only feel knee deep in a trout stream.  What a beautiful looking rod.

An old Navy tug master used to make the most sought after flies in New England. It was a hobby for him. They were by no means cheap to buy but it took him a long time to make. I can not imagine how much time it took to make that rod but it sure looks special. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful video, beautiful craftsmanship, beautiful waters, beautiful trout, and beautiful people. Once again, a video that will be watched over and over again. Well done, and thank you.

What an orchestra in the bushes! I was waiting for him to get that catch! Amazing video!
  • Another great video. I have been on this river. It was in a different country and was called by a different name but the magic was the same!
