Okay, I know probably everyone and their Mom has drawn this scene before, but I read an excerpt A Light in the Mist and honestly it was really good, and I really enjoyed seeing how the story concluded. Plus I've had this song in my mind as something to make a PMV with for a while, and just never had the right characters/story. So here we are, the PMV is just that scene from the book set to music
You can kinda see which frames I drew first, and there is a lot I'm not super happy with it, but I'm glad I got it done. It was fun to kinda messy paint the whole thing, though I wish I got to work a little more on the bgs. + After effects was nearly unusable by the end of this it slowed down my computer so much yeowch.
Probably won't upload much for the next couple months, school starts up tomorrow! But who knows maybe I'll impulse join a map đ¤

I cried. Especially in the scene when bristle thought something along the lines of âthese must be memories, we definitely had this life togetherâ and she settled with the peace of that during her whole dream part of her death. This animation truly brings out the greif, the horror, the absolute hopelessness of Root who was going to join her clan and the beauty of the life they could have shared together. This animation is incredibly.

You did say this scene has been drawn a lot, but it still manages to feel fresh somewhat - you drew their struggle, her pushing him down, and her trying to resurface before falling back down The dream images contrast so well, they're so beautiful, and the way she fades to the vision of them playing around on 0:56, I'm crying

that part of the book surprised me, I never actually thought'd they'd kill a main POV character, much less in their own chapter! I honestly was shipping Bristle and Root pretty hard at that point, and reading this part H U R T, you were able to capture this scene perfectly in this animation!

This is gorgeous! I absolutely love the paint-ish style you went with! Poor Bristlefrost...I love that the authors finally had the guts to kill off a main character but it's still so sad!

Oh man, this is so beautiful yet so heartbreaking!! I loved Bristlefrost so much in the end, and I think people misunderstand her relationship with Rootspring. They had just started their relationship, and what makes her death so sad is what could have been for them, not what was. They could have had so much time to get to know each other and spend time together but that was all just... taken away. It's truly so sad but such wonderful writing at the same time. This captures that feeling so wellAw man you captured the suffocating feeling of the water so well, something about it made my chest hurt.
