There's a reason VGG has 1.6 m subscribers. He has not slacked off of trying to top HIMSELF over and over. Bless you and Jessica and the children. You restore my faith in the youth of America.
  • How many content creators have viewers willing to watch a video this long? A guy is doing something right!
  • @MamawT65
I’m a 66 yr old grandma and I really enjoy seeing our beautiful country through the windows of the vehicle you bring back to life! I get so tired of seeing all the bad news on tv , so I pull up one of your videos and everything is okay in the USA! Love to you and God Bess!

Derek is one of the few people in the world who could make a fella spontaneously see a YouTube video as long as the average movie and say "Yep, Watching it."

This two hour blockbuster is better than 99% of the garbage that's come out of Hollywood in the last ten years. Tinseltown has completely lost the ability to bring the thunder....but Derek hasn't. Another episode that completely kicks ass. Thanks brother!

This is in so many ways unimaginable to do here in Germany, I would love to visit the US to go on such an adventure trip. And if I learnt something from your videos, it's to plan your route along O'Reilly stores.

I love the trouble shooting and constant problem solving involved in riding with Derek! Thanks for the adventure!
  • I dont know how but I enjoy watching these 1.5 -2h long revival videos without skipping a beat despite never being able to watch a regular movie in one sitting. You've got some incredible skill in telling a story on these rigs that just keeps a guy entertained the whole way through. Thank you!

My favorite part is Derek describing the interior smell, quite unique every episode.

A tip taught to me about 50 years ago by an old brake tech: to get the old seal out without damaging it, remove the nut, washer, and outer bearing. Then put ONLY the nut back on the spindle shaft. Now, apply some downward pressure on the rotor or drum and quickly snatch it off the spindle. The downward pressure keeps the nut from going through the inner bearing. The nut will catch the inner bearing which will catch the seal all the way around removing it completely undamaged. I have reused dozens of seals with no problems.

I won't sell my old ford truck because my dad rode with me in it. Sure do miss him.I can still see him sitting over there with his arm out the window. Love you dad.

Watching Derek's uploads on a Friday night is like watching a college finals football game. You know it's coming and you know it's going to be good. I appreciates you Derek! Thank you for making my long week worth it
  • @MuscatelTom

Back in June, i flew from my home in Alaska to Denver to pick up a 1973 f250 that had been sitting for at least 10 years and drive it back to Alaska. 2,408 Miles!! All original 390 with c6 automatic tranny. I broke down in Utah, Portland OR, Hope BC and in the middle of nowhere in BC Canada, but it made it home! Oh, and I picked up a 20 ft car hauler trailer in Portland, loaded it with about 7,000 LBs and towed it the rest of the way. After I pulled it in my driveway and parked the trailer, it wouldn't start again until i replaced the starter and adjusted the points and timing. Was an awesome trip with my brother. Learned alot and had tons of fun. it was actually on this trip someone told me about your channel. Great stuff, by the way. You learn more broke down on the side of the highway than you would in a shop for sure!! Im 24 years old and i love the challenge of old vehicles!!
  • Those two spent fuel filters - unbelievable! VGG is such a practical and enjoyable classroom of tips and ideas.
  • @Cody_1776
Damn, I used to get nervous driving a newer car without a valid inspection for a couple days.. VGG is the hero we all need. I’ve been watching for years now.
  • @krippy840
You're like the Bob Ross of fixing old trucks. Seriously, watching you work is therapeutic.
