Spellbinding circle makes much more sense, since exodia is bound by a spell 💀
  • Since the spellbinding circle one is the one I was introduced to and collected growing up, its definitely the iconic one for me. I think the extra color helps the card pop as well. Seems a bit bland without it.

The circle gives Exodia more color. Just like how Barrel Dragons America art makes it look more pretty with the color

I had the pentagram version. Complete. I realized that the place where my grandma used to buy booster packs for me as a gift sold fake packs and my full exodia is fake too. I still keep it with me, since it’s a sweet memory of her and my childhood
  • i'm still waiting for the day 5 exodia cards make a perfect circle

The shape language of the circle is a little stronger and its more colorful. It reminds me how the censored Barrel Dragon looks like a railgun or a laser canon or something as opposed to a simple revolver. It's a good example of having to censor a card but making it into something new and interesting.

Spell binding circle because it makes sense you have to bind exodia to 5 parts for it doesn't become too overpowered

Back in 2005, some japanese guy in the local cardshop owned both artwork versions of Exodia (Star one was ofc in Japanese) but was pretty cool to see

I love the SBC because it's on so many different cards and gives off this particular magiky vibe that is inherent to YuGiOh.

I actually have only ever seen it with the pentagram until today despite being in an area where I think it is censored. Seeing it with the cirle actually looks very nice. My personal ideal way I think exodia being summoned should look is having the summoning circle first showing up before the star then shows up behind it and has exodia come out of it like a portal while the summoning circle goes backwards behind the star, exodia's chains snapping and the star itself breaking apart with it's gold rim falling to the ground in several pieces and the black portal part of it going up and away into the air like inky smoke before the summoning circle that is behind it fades away. I really like exodia's design and the way it is theatrically played up by simply appearing only for very little to happen afterwards aside at most blinding light or a game loss screen is very well designed to make it intimidating as it having a dramatic entrance that it doesn't have to follow up on lets it end off on a peak of sorts since it's not "oh no it is going to do it" but "oh no it has already done it".

Spellbinding circle version! These cards helped define part of who I was grown by up and I would never change them
  • Was awesome to buy the ygld box and finally get all 5 pieces just for the experience of having all 5 cards!
  • I framed exodia and have it on my wall.. i had people over and they asked what's on my wal? and i said, ohh that's my religion

The original OCG artwork is my personal favorite. Especially when you realize that Spellbinding Circle was also censored here in the West as well.
