I really loved Yugioh, (still kinda do) so today I thought I would share my experience with one of the greatest card games of all time... and what happened when school came into the mix.

Don't ask me about any of the new cards though, I don't understand how they work. I pretty much gave up after xyz era. In case you are wondering; I had a dinosaur and sea creature deck with my insect deck being the strongest. So.... if anyone challenges me... They will get squashed

  • He posted this on Pokémon’s 25th anniversary what a bold move
  • "Yugioh is demonic and detrimental to young minds" Me with my penguin deck: ._.
  • As a Yugioh fan it warms my heart to see other people that are either still into Yugioh or retired

In high school i did a history lesson on Yugioh. The class loved it. To add i had the soundtrack tape for the show and played the opening and brought my wallscroll with me and my cards which no one stole.
  • My parents were called into school like this because I played uno in a free period and my dad was like wtf you called me out of my job for this. And that happened when I was in a privet school . After that I always went to a public Army school because my father is in the Indian army. I got to eat a huge cone of chocolate icecream that day.
  • It appears that "The Heart of the cards" was not just cheap talk about believing in yourself and your allies or whatever, but very much a real thing that dictated one's performance. During the Duelist Kingdom duel between Mokuba and Yugi, he tells Mokuba that there's no way he can win with a deck that's not his own and his heart is not with those cards. Yugi and Kaiba standing on top of all duelists is in part due to their link with their monsters from their past lives, their deeper connection to the heart of the cards than anyone else's.

When I was a kid, I had a friend with a super religious family that I would play Yugioh with. His religion never seemed to get in the way of us playing the game so it was never an issue. One day I go over to his house to play, with my deck and everything. When I ask him if he's ready to duel he tells me he's not allowed to play Yugioh anymore. I ask him why, and he tells me it's cause mom said it worships satan and all that jazz. My kid brain was like: "Well, if you're not allowed to play anymore... Can I have your cards?" Dude had awesome cards, like dark paladin, Buster Blader and stuff like that. "I can't give them to you." "Why not?" "My mom burned them all." Little kid me was destroyed hearing this. "WHY DID SHE BURN THEM"

In my school it was like this: Pokemon: tiny nerds Yugioh: teenage nerds Magic the Gathering: maximum nerds
  • @ArthurPlays101
"The Heart of The Cards guide you to break the rules" - Kaiba or something
  • Dude, yugioh gave me that special feeling of appreciating life. Yugioh brings people together if it's simple like goat format. New yugioh is like prison ..... it's a jungle
  • 6:28 its funny how all of those 1st 4 things are Red Eyes Dark Dragoon, and the last effect is Destroyer Pheonix Enforcer(its power crept version) those are essentially the modern broken staple monsters everyone summons.

I never understood why it was such a big deal to play during free time at school. Now as a teacher, I host a Yu-Gi-Oh! Club at the school I teach at. Not only do the kids practice their math and reading, but they have a chance to just hang out and talk about something they’re mutually interested in.
  • School be like: It's time to d-d-d-d da da dooooooooo your homeowork.
  • 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙍𝙞𝙥𝙨 Me: "Don't worry babe I believe in the heart of the cards" Her: Sighs in relief Me: Proceeds to lay wood like Yugi would've wanted me to
  • @Jay0Do
I played Yu-Gi-Oh a lot as a teen. And during the pandemic I updated my cyber dragon deck and went to my first locals. Went 2-2. Was a lot of fun. Hope to play again sometime
  • Jon: stops playing the game because of peer pressure Me and other Yugioh nerds: you have betrayed the brotherhood the council will decide your fate
