  • Terrific video. Watched until the end, which is rare for me. Great tips!
  • Can this be used to regain access to an old Google account I lost access to? I have the password, but I no longer have access to the phone number that I used for 2FA a few years ago.

What if the person accidentally enters the wrong password ?( Like he remembers the password is either of the 2 things he remembers ) so would the website still lead to authentication page or would interact with it and ask for the right password by checking... ?

Fake realistic websites are not the problem. The problem is after all these years, people have still not learned to not sign in on websites they got to from links in emails or text messages.

Google at the moment does not have an option to turn on 2FA when changing a security setting. Cookie + Password is a deadly combo and you will be locked out of your account completely as user can replace your 2FA, recovery options with his own. If google enables 2FA for changing a security setting at-least you can regain control of your account. Am I missing something here?

This won’t fly with built in password managers. With the wrong host they won’t prompt to enter saved passwords.
  • I like the idea of customizing login pages. The user would have some small piece of the page's styling without which the login page would appear very different. Certainly not a cure all, but it would be a hurdle for bad actors and a very noticeable red flag for users.

No account is safe and anything can be hacked, if we are not regularly watching the activity..

I think the only way to stop this is awareness or any other phising attack seeing the URL should be enough
