Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site, Texas | Pictograph Guided Tour & Rim Trail #pictograph

We took a guided tour to a historic pictograph site. It was pretty awesome!

Spring Break 2024 road trip to eclipse totality in Texas!
April 5th, day 7 of our 11 day trip, we explore Seminole Canyon State Park, Texas.

This was an awesome State Park in Southern Texas that had an awesome pictograph site. The State Park offers guided tours into the canyon and also trail system along the upper rim of the canyon. We decided to do the guided tour and also had some time to hike some of the rim trail. It was a really windy day just like the Joh Anderson song "Seminole Wind" LOL. We managed to keep our hats on and had an amazing time exploring what the State Park is well known for, its pictograph site! The guide on the tour was amazing and very informative. I would highly recommend getting a tour to learn about the area and the pictograph site.
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Dam blustery day and a guided tour sounded a good idea but if there were snakes about the last thing I would be worrying about would be my hat. Tough day to vlog with all that wind but a lot better when you dot down low and the guide took over. Cheers Alan
  • WOW! an amazing landscape Steve, and yet life! Pretty flowers indeed. Awesome Canyon. Great that you got to go a guided tour. Great to see fossils of prehistoric creatures and the stories of the burial. Thank you for taking us along Steve. Very interesting. Hope you are both well. • Definitely a windy day. I guess that helps to keep the bugs away. Another cool stop on your trip, Steve. Thanks for sharing.
  • Sheesh I reckon the snakes would be hunkering down in that wind!!! Beautiful desert flowers along the trail. Fascinating and exciting to see the fossils and the pictographs. We saw some 10,000 year old cave paintings in France and it sent shivers - just incredible to see. The burial info was incredible Sounded like a great tour Steve 👍👍

So cool! A lot to see. Lovely flowers. The rock formations with all the fossils and rock that look like corals or the inside of an Aero chocolate bar hahaha. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing, take care :)
  • We visited this state park last year on our road trip to the west. It's beautiful and, in our opinion, very underrated. Cool that you did the tour down into the canyon. 👍🙂

Pretty cool tour. Man the wind there reminds me of how it can get on Grandfather at times. Very nice video my friend. P.S Happy early Birthday!
