Visiting San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, & The Alamo!

Published 2024-07-27
Remember the Alamo! Our visit the San Antonio Missions.

Spring Break 2024 road trip to eclipse totality in Texas!
April 6th, day 8 of our 11 day trip, we explore the San Antonio Missions including the Alamo.

Our route to San Antonio took us along the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Trail. It was awesome to see the 5 missions including The well known Alamo! The National Park service did a great job preserving these historic sites for all to see. It was an awesome way to break up the drive with these several stops to see some magnificent structures.

Enjoy!

Great tour guys, this historic Park looked brilliant, we would LOVE to visit these 5 missions and so good that they are UNESCO sites which are always worth visiting. Those old stone walls were beautiful, it must be amazing for whoever lived in that residence there 😃 The foundations of the buildings were so good to see, kind of like the ruins of the castles we have here in North Wales. Loved the Mission San Jose, it was fantastic as you walked around the grounds, its like one of our old abbeys ! The Alamo looked like it was great, gorgeous inside and really beautiful. That bullet hole 😯 This was great , sooo big :) ~ Anna 👍

Awesome places to check out. Last year I visited Alamo but I see that San Antonio has so much more to check out. Pretty neat!

Roman legions over the the US! Good to see inside the old stone buildings and even better when you see the back of tour buses. The church looked great and also great to read that handguns are prohibited there and I hope that line did move fast, as it looked never ending. Interesting place to take a tour, cheers Alan
  • Man you're a beast when it comes to uploading 😂I got a whole series to watch now. Love the architecture, bet they're more awesome in person. Such an awesome place, thankful that its part of UNESCO and it's protected. Take care

Fantastic!! Needed one more day in San Antonio and would have made it to the Missions. Such an amazing place and some pretty significant history! Awesome!!
  • I love historic sites. The local history had to have ran through those missions. The Alamo, US history ran through it. One can only imagine what it all looked like when those missions were still up in their prime. I had no idea all those sites exist. Thanks for sharing your experience there. Take care, stay safe and healthy.
